You ever wonder how you and your sworn arch enemy turn into friends and maybe even something potentially more? I know! I wonder how too! Funny story, it actually happened to me! Crazy right?! But--as always I am getting ahead of myself.

My names Lance, ya know? Tall, brown skin, brown hair, Midnight oceans eyes? Yea uh now let's see what other word describes me? Oh I know--Handsome! I mean believe me! I'm everything you'd want! I'm uh, I'm funny! I'm popular! Did I mention I was handsome? I'm a athlete! I'm handsome! Or did I already say that? Oh yea! Handsome again! Smart, and I mean not to mention or point anything out...I'm kinda handsome. I know, I've already said that but you get the deal right?! I can get any body I want! A girl OR boy, if ya know what I mean. ;). Anyways now that we all know that I'm handsome let's start this thing! And by that.."The Assignment"

"Ok class! Now that the end of the year is approaching, And I'm sure you've all been waiting for this an--" Mr. Shiroganes speech was interrupted by a boy wearing all black and a jacket walking into class, late. He was pale and had long black hair that trailed down to his neck and bangs that follow his every move swiftly. The whole class watched as he came in solemnly, and took his seat. In the back of the class. And I knew that boy! Maybe he didn't know me, but he was gonna go down one day. My arch enemy, the only competition I have in the whole Palacairra Academy! And his name is
"Keith." Mr. Shirogane said as Keith settled into his seat. Keith looked up. "Where have you been, Mr. Kogane? You've missed this class the whole week." Mr. Shirogane said sighing irritated. "I been busy." Keith said shrugging. "So you thought the best decision was to skip classes?" Keith didn't respond this time. "I only ask you these questions because I care about you. You have great potential Keith, I see you going places. But you cant go places if you don't try! Anyways back to what I was saying now that apparently our attendance if finally, full." Mr. Shirogane said and sighed. He then continued talking on and on, I don't really know nor do I really care. I pulled my phone out from my pocket, and texted my friend. Did I mention, my uptight friend? Who was right across the room from me.

Lance: Yo Pidge! You understand anything the space daddy is saying?

After awhile I finally got a response

Pidge: Yes, I am now shush before we get caught!

I sighed.

Lance: fineeeee

I put my phone up. But it wasn't going down that easy. I tore off a piece of my paper that was un doodled on. I wrote a letter to my friend  Hunk! A big fella! But one of my best friends!

Note: What do ya say we go to the "la messa" and "visita" !?

I then looked around, if I threw the note too soon the teacher would catch me and read it out loud! I sighed and planned my throw. As soon as Mr. Shirogane turned around I threw the the paper quick. Well, trying out for football probably would've helped me right now. Cause my throwing was way off point. Instead of hitting Hunk, it hit 'Him'. Yes him! My arch enemy! My Joker as I'm Batman! Keith. Actually it was pretty funny though. It popped him right upside his head! He sat up after getting hit and read the note.  I covered my mouth holding back my laughter as I replayed him getting hit with it dozens of times. I mean, you woulda laughed if you saw it too! He finally looked around till both of our eyes met. He stared into mines with a straight   face, kinda a death stare. "Watch were your throwing!" Is Keith's first words to me. Kinda rude too now that I notice. "I don't even know what your talking about dude." I said my mouth still covered holding back laughter. "Oh you know exactly what I'm talking about! Who else could it be?!" Keith said now shouting. "Okay, relax dude. It was just an accident." I said assuring him. He balled the note up and threw it at me, this time it hit my face. "Hey man! I told you it was an accident!" I yelled, I was starting to get mad. By now the whole classes attention was on us, and maybe even Mr. Shiroganes! "Oh sure it was an accident! It was an accident like the last times I was here too wasn't it?!" Keith said stepping out of his chair. "Yes, it was! And I don't have time to argue with you, I have an education to get, unlike you." I said lowering my voice calming down. But the next words he said couldn't prepare me for anything. He had triggered something in me! I'll tell ya that for sure. "What ever...gay" Keith said crossing his arms. The whole class gave out a loud "OOOOOOOOO" except for Pidge and Hunk, who looked at each other awkwardly knowing what was about to happen. "OH SO YOU THINK IM GAY?!" I said practically jumping out of my seat. He took a step toward me "Yea, I do. What ya gonna do about it?" We quickly exchanged our share of harsh words and step taking till we were face to face. "Let me tell ya this! Keith!" I said now stepping so close to him we were touching. "I MAY BE GAY, BUT AT LEAST IM NOT HIDING IT. IM HAPPY!" I yelled. "Hm...well you shouldn't be." Keith said. I gasped and raised my hand to hit him. Luckily Mr. Shirogane stopped me and him by grabbing my hand and twisting it behind my
Back, he then turned me around and gave me a nudge toward my seat "ow, ow ow ow ow! Ow ow." I continued owing as I sat down at my seat. When I got there Keith was already in his seat, mad. "Both of you grow up!" Mr. Shirogane said ranting about how childish we were for our age, and how both of us were in wrong. Me and Keith didn't say anything though, we just stared at each other. The 'Death Stare'. "Now that that's over. Let me tell you all what I was going to before Keith and Lance here interrupted me. There will be an assignment, it is optional if you want to join. The task is to create a blue print and mini figure of an defense system, it must be absolutely the best, no, legendary. Defense system ever. It will, if good enough be created how ever, it must have parts, unique to your partners, it must also have a home base, and retreat, for like all dogs, there's a dog house...this is a 100% cooperation project! Bonding time! And if you and your team win, not only will it be created. You will be a certified Space defender! You will get to travel to different galaxies! And go on missions. To help NSFX." After this the whole class gasped in excitement after what Mr. Shirogane just said. Including me! For my whole life I have dreamed of working for NSFX! And this could really be the chance! I gave Hunk and Pidge a look, a look we both shared. We knew what we were talking about. We were going to do that assignment. "The due date is the last day of school! June 27! That day only, if any later, they will not be accepted. Also, as you all know, I am retired, how ever, I will help the winners!" At that the class cheered at Mr. Shirogane.

The bell rung later, class had ended, almost everyone were scattering to get to their buses, home, and some where out. Though me, Hunk, and Pidge made our way to the desk. We exchanged looks on who to speak first. We were sorta arguing in a our minds, luckily he noticed us and choose himself "Yes, Paladins?" Mr. Shirogane said without even looking up. "Oh uh, well, we kinda already have our team!" I spoke. He looked up, after a while he shook his head. "No?" Hunk said. "Mhm." The teacher replied still grading papers. "Why not? What's wrong with us?" Pidge said getting defensive. "Easy, you don't have you fourth member." He looked up and back down. "What? We don't need a fourth member! We have us, a team. Besides I don't trust any one else with our ideas. Lots of people wanna be my friend and I don't know their intentions." I spoke up. "Keith!" Mr. Shirogane shouted not looking up. Keith walked up to the desk, standing next to me. "For now on you work with them for the NSFX project. Be friends, cooperate, have fun, no more questions." Mr.Shirogane said and stood up taking his papers and walking right out of the room! My mouth dropped wide open looking at Keith. He so can't be apart of the paladins!
