Chapter 1 - Pandemonium

The sixty or something teenagers were in line waiting to get into the all ages club but it was a long wait especially on a Tuesday and not much   usually happened in the line, The same bouncers stood outside the club, they were usually quite fierce and tough and wouldn't stand for any trouble from anyone, Sixteen year old Clary Fray stood along side her best friend Simon waiting to be let in hoping for some wild excitement, and then a dark brown haired male pushed aside her to get in front of the line in his red costume and he pulled out a wooden beam look a like weapon and held it in his hand and the bouncer shook his head and folded his arms.

"I don't think so, Where do you think your going with that?" The bouncer asked

"Aw don't be a spoil sport" The kid grinned and looked the bouncer straight in his eyes "besides, its apart of my costume"

"And what might that be?" The bouncer asked and raised one of his eyebrows

"A vampire slayer of course, did you not smell the fake blood?" The kid asked "don't worry the blade won't hurt anyone, its rubber" he smirked and bent the blade back

"Whatever kid, i definitely don't get paid enough for this job" The bouncer sighed and let the kid in

The boy grinned like he had won something and went on inside. Inside the club it was all full of a dry smoke, and coloured lights flashed everywhere turning it into acid greens and pinks and golds. He had a red waist coat and a long razor sharp blade in his hands, and a smirk playing over his lips, it was easy, all he did was add a little glamour to his blade to make it look harmless, another glamour on his eyes and the moment the bouncer connected eyes with him of course he was straight in there, He would of probably gotten in without all the trouble but it was always apart of the fun, fooling all the mundanes and doing it in front of them to play with their minds and looking at their sheeplike faces as they had seen it. He walked through the crowd as he saw all the mundies swaying their hips and tossing their hair backwards and fourth to the sound of the music ringing in their ears as they all dripped with sweat enjoying themselves, his lips curled, the mundies had no idea how lucky they were to live such a normal and free life where they could walk in the sun and be free, their lives burned as brightly as a candle flame but it could be blown out anytime they wished.

Humans were so stupid to him, they had something so delicate and they barely safeguarded their lives at all, They always threw away their entire lives for money, for packets of useless powder for a few hours to keep them high, for a strangers exquisite smile, the boys eyes caught up to a girl across the room, she had a wide smirk and long dark brown hair which she tossed back with her left hand and she held a sharp blade in the other, she was so pale and wore such a gorgeous black revealing dress which showed her skin tanned legs and she grinned and she looked perfect. In another view she wasn't so perfect as he got up close to her, he could see the eyeliner beneath her eyes that had fallen out of place, the sweat ruining her hair sticking it to her neck, he could smell her mortality, and he grinned wickedly and she grabbed her left hand behind her and twisted the knob of a door which said NO ADMITTANCE - KEEP OUT, they both smirked, it was so much better if she wanted privacy between the two.

Outside Clary and Simon had finally managed to make it inside the club and they swayed and danced for a while, lots of people made out constantly near them and they all drank tequila shots trying to pour out their misery with alcohol, Simon smirked widely, Clary's eyes were glued to the boy on the otherside of the club as she saw him and the girl enter the keep out room.

"Pretty good music, eh?" Simon asked "I'm actually having a great time"

"Mmm-hmm" Clary nodded, she knew perfectly well that Simon only came to the Pandemonium because she liked these kind of things and because it was her sixteenth birthday, she was never really certain about why she liked these kind of places, she was so intrigued by all the clothes and it always felt like she was living a different life, someone else's life and not her boring real one at all. But Clary had always been shy around everyone except Simon.
