Chapter 1

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to step out of your body and watch yourself? See how other people see you. See what impressions you make on yourself, analyse, criticise, and make personal changes. Sounds like a fantasy, an escape from the world, a dream you wish to come true. I never wanted this dream to come true, nor did I want to come face to face with myself.

This wasn’t my case as such, to just step out of my body like stepping out into the sunshine, it was like being dragged out kicking and screaming into the unknown.

I saw myself. I saw myself laid still on the marble floor. My recently fitted steel grey marble floor now holding a pool of what looked like black oil. But when looking closer it wasn’t oil at all, it was blood: a dark ruby red colour. Blood. My blood. In my house. My kitchen.

I noticed her stood there, over me, body trembling, a face of anguish and anger. A face I will never forget: the face of my childhood best friend.
