Reina's POV:
"I wonder what we will be doing in first period today? Don't you Suo? Maria?" I asked as the three of us got off the bus and started walking toward the front gate of our "All Assassin's" school.
I saw Jasper and her brothers running toward us as fast as they could. When Jasper tried to give me a running hug, I sidestepped out of the way and she instead tackled my sister Suo.
"What the hell Reina!! Why don't you ever want a hug?" She said as she stood up. "Oh and do you know why there are so many police officers around the school today?"
"Actually you can thank Jack Hellsing for that. He shot someone for taking his cupcake." I replied.
Jasper burst out laughing. when she finally calmed down she said, "The guy that took his cupcake got what was coming to him in my opinion. Nobody has ever been able to piss him off more than when taking his food."
"I totally agree with you. But the police don't." I said while trying not to laugh. "We should probably get to class. Mr. Honataro Dai will get pissed if we're late again."
"Why do you always use his full name anyway?" Kaname asked.
"Because unlike you guys, I try to be polite. And I was quite serious about getting to class."
We all took off running through the front doors of the school. we split up to go to our own lockers before heading straight to Mr. Dai's Weapons Training class.
I was the first of our little group to arrive and I immediately went to my seat and sat down. Then I pulled out my notebook and wrote down what was written on the board, which said, "CAPTURE THE FLAG DAY!!!!"
I smiled as everyone else piled into the room and then the bell rang.
Mr. Dai came in and said, "Alright everyone, settle down and take your seats. We have a lot to do today."
Then he wrote a the names of the two teams that will be doing capture the flag today, one was Dragons and the other was Knights.
Then he pulled out a ceramic jar from inside his desk and said, “I want everyone to draw a single card. It will wither say ‘Dragons’ or ‘Knights’ on it. That will be the team that you will be on for today’s C.T.F. Any questions?”
A girl at the back of the class said, “Will we be using paint guns, BB guns, Air soft guns, or our own weapons?”
He smiled and said, “This is actually a serious test for you kids. We will be using BB guns because the Director will be watching you guys and he will decide who gets to move on to the next half of the class and who gets dropped based upon how well you do today. It will not be your entire team that gets dropped though. It will only be about a dozen of you. The rest move on to Weapons Training: Live Combat, or Class 1-A. Remember that this class is Weapons Training: Strategic Countermeasures, or Class 1-B, which means that all of your strategies will put to the test today. Oh and I almost forgot, there will be traps all over the battlefield that were put in place by our top Trap Specialists in Class 3-A. If you get caught by one you are automatically out of the game and are likely to be chosen as one of the people who will be dropped from this course. You will then have to choose a different course to go into. Got it?”
We all said, “Yes sir!”
Then we came up to his desk one at a time in Alphabetical order by first names. When Jasper went up she merely smiled and looked at her card. Then finally, I was called. I walked down the alley and turned toward the professor’s desk full of anxiety. I reached my hand into the the jar and pulled out the folded up card. I unfolded it and saw that it read ‘Dragons.’ I gave a sigh of relief and walked back to my seat with the card, like everyone before me did. I waited patiently while everyone else got their cards and when the last person went up I readied myself to stand up.
Mr. Dai said, “OK, now that everyone has their cards and has been put on a team, I want the Dragons on this half of the room and the Knights on the other half.”
Everyone got up and moved to their spots on one half of the room. I didn’t have to move though, so I stayed put. Before I knew it, everyone was at their teams spot and was chatting. I noticed that Jasper, Kaname, and her other brother, whose name I always forget for some reason were on this half of the room and so were my sisters Suo and Maria. I smiled as they walked over to me.
Jasper said, “It seems that we were incredibly lucky. Nobody wants to be on the opposite team as you, little Miss Class President.”
“I don’t have the highest grades in this school for nothing you know.” I said.
She said sarcastically, “Oh yeah, I didn’t know that. Come on seriously. You need to learn not to brag about your accomplishments.”
Mr. Dai said, “Alright, now that everyone knows who’s on their team, why don’t we head down to the armory to gather our equipment. But first I want each of you to form trios of people within your team and choose a leader. Also, you should choose a leader of your team.”
Then someone on our team said, “I nominate Reina Light!”
Then I saw the sadistic Rima step forward and say, “I nominate Ruka Hunter!”
Then about half of the people on our team said, “Reina!”
The other half said, “Ruka!”
I said, “Why don’t we have a vote to see who is the leader. That way it is fair.”
Then I took out a bag and pulled out a piece of paper and tore it into enough equal size pieces that everyone on our team had one piece. Everyone wrote down the name of the person they wanted to be leader of our team and put it into the bag. I then went and counted the votes along with Jasper and Ruka. There were fifteen votes for Ruka and eighteen for me, leaving me the leader of the team even though I didn’t like being a leader.
I said, “ALright everyone, the votes are in.”
Ruka said, “To my disappointment, Reina is the victor this time but I know that I will win next time.”
Ruka’s fans all sighed and said, “Awwww maaaannn.”
Then I noticed that the other team was already leaving and said, “Alright everyone, choose your trios on the way to the armory.”
