Walking around the base with nothing to do, all the heroes are chatting and well. I'm too shy to go and talk to them, I have noticed though that Mei isn't there. Wonder what she's doing, even thought I've never talked to her I feel like we're best friends.
I start to walk towards the elevator to get away from the awkwardness of just standing here alone, I see in the corner of my eye Mei who is talking to the group then looks up at me and begins to walk towards me. My heart starts beating quicker than ever before and I start to casually speed walk, I press the button on the wall and the elevator opens within seconds. I practically throw myself inside and spam the button, the doors begin to close.
Just as they were about to close and hand slips between the two door, the doors open and Mei steps in.
"Nearly missed it!" She giggles, I look down at my feet as the doors close again.
"So whats your name?" She asks, I look up from my feet. Making eye contact, I open my mouth to say something.
"Oh,er-i M-my name is (Y/N)" I say shyly, looking back down at my feet.
"Shy one" She mutters. Suddenly the elevator comes to a sudden halt. Mei stumbles a bit at the sudden stop but manages to balance herself, I look around the room confused.
"What the?" I whisper, I swear I could see Mei blushing in the corner of my eye. Suddenly her phone buzzes, she takes her phone out. Zarya is calling her, she answers the call putting it on speaker.
"Hey, are you guys OK?" She asks. How did she know I was in here as well? Mei looks up at me.
"Yeah we're fine, can you get us out of here?" Mei asks Zarya giving me a weak smile.
"Yeah it'll take bout 10-20 minutes?"
"Yeah that's fine" Mei responds, it's almost like she planned for this to happen or something.
20 Minutes Later after getting to know Mei I finally have someone I can call a friend.
The door opens and Zarya looks in to see me and Mei sitting on the floor laughing.
"Sorry if I took too long" Zarya winks at Mei, I stand up and help Mei up.
"Oh, (Y/N) here" Mei quickly scribbles something onto a piece of paper and hands it to me, I look at the paper
'Call me sometime ;) (Mei's Number)'
I look up at Mei smiling and blushing, we say goodbye and I start to walk back to my room.
"Was that enough time?" Zarya whispers to Mei.
"Yeah, he's really cute and shy" She responds, I don't turn around I just keep walking back to my room until I reach the door. I throw it open and close it behind me, my face heating up.
"She thinks I'm cute?" I mumble sliding down the door, a smiling blushing mess.
