Change

There is so much hate and judgement in this world. It takes time to realize, and yet when you do, you don't try to change it. You grow up and see the world as it is; a house of horrors, an epitome of suffering. You see it on TV and with your own eyes- abuse, pain, and judgement. 'You can be who you want, and do what you want' they tell us, and yet we choose to be this. What choice do we have? The world has suffered one-hundred years, and it will suffer one-hundred more. But yet we forget that another option, another door, lay partially open, allowing just a crack of light to catch the eye of a rare passerby, and behind that door lies the opportunity for change. In this hypocritical world in which we live, environmentalists still dispose of waste, contributing to the garbage our world carries, and foreign aid donors still buy slavery ridden clothes, stained with the invisible tears of human suffering. Change cannot be bought, nor can it be found by the simple chore of picking up litter. No, to change one must conquer- must fight for what is wrong, and win. 'A dollar a day' here, and a 'don't do this' there won't change the world. It does little more to budge the sturdy rock that blocks our path to a better tomorrow than a gentle breeze. A rock. Yes a rock indeed. That's what sits in our way, an emotionless, cold rock. We were raised to see in black and white, taught to either be bystanders or contributors. Remove that boulder and open that door. Do what you believe in and accomplish to the best of your abilities. This world has suffered long enough, and who are we to inhabit it this way any longer? We've grown up with labels long enough. We should make a new category, one of fighters.
