You run through the streets, your breath coming out in short puffs.
"Why do humans hate the kuroryuu [black dragon]!?"
You had descended after Hiryuu to bring him back, despite the protests of the other dragons. However, you never would've dreamed that the people of Kouka Kingdom loathed the black dragon, which was said to be the embodiment of all evil and darkness. And so while the red dragon you were supposed to catch ran out to battle, you were desperately running away from the stones of the people.
"Huff, huff!"
You gasp for air as you desperately search for a shadow. You can hear the rushed footsteps of three dozen men behind you. You launch yourself underneath the fabric of a woman's dress, and you feel your body dissipate into thin air.
You travel along the shadows, hopping from building to building. You stop by a bread vendor and reach out a shadowy arm.
By the time the man notices, you're already in the next street.

You try to ignore your stomach's mating calls as you wander around the Palace gates. The guards had already chased you out sixteen times.
How laughable. Kuroryuu, the famed dragon of the night, walking around hungry and tired.
You sigh and sit down against a wall, feeling dizzy from hunger.
As your vision blurs, you see a flash of red.

"Kuroryuu."
You launch yourself out of a bed and land nimbly on your feet, eyes darting about suspiciously. You see a familiar figure in front of you, sitting on the floor.
"H-Hiryuu?" you stammer. The man you see doesn't even remotely resemble the cold red dragon you had seen before. He glowed with happiness, even as his face showed signs of fatigue.
"You're awake. I felt another dragon's presence in front of the Palace, so I thought I'd check." He chuckles. "How old is your body? You seem like a child. Nothing like the majestic hundred year old beast you are."
You scoff.
"This body is a woman's. I'm at least sixteen."
Hiryuu laughs.
"Sixteen? How young! My body has seen at least twenty-four years."
You frown.
"Putting trivial matters aside, Hiryuu, we need you to come back. Your fiancee is waiting, and so are all the others."
He looks away.
"The Orange Dragon can survive well enough by herself -- and so can the rest."
You walk over to him and place a hand on his arm.
"Hiryuu."
"I love the humans."
As you tighten your grip slightly, he shivers lightly.
You scowl and draw your hand back.
"If you cannot control your foolish emotions, at least control your own body."
As Hiryuu looks at his lap with a mortified expression, you turn around and exit the room.
You hear footsteps and look behind you to see Hiryuu.
"My body," he says slowly. "Shows my emotion. If I cannot control my emotion, then I cannot control my body."
Then he grabs your waist and kisses you passionately.
"I cannot control my body because I love you, Kuroryuu."
You kick his side before throwing him over your shoulder.
"You idiot. I was going to say it first," you whisper. Hiryuu jumps up and embraces you, kissing your hair.
"If we cannot be together in the heavens, then I suppose we can be together as humans." you murmur.
The only reason why I followed him was because I still wished to see him.
"We'll be together forever. I swear it."
You lightly punch his chest, before blushing.
"I wanted to say that first, too."
