The Fight Pub

My door opened, and I sat up in my bed. I had been crying for a while because of what had happened to Future.

A dark figure walked in, and a cold voice started to speak, "we are currently docked near a bar. With all that we've been through in the past few days, I ask the captain if we could get a few drinks, he said no. So, do you mind freezing time and coming with me?" Freeze looked at me.

"Why'd you ask me to sneak you off? And come with you?" I asked in a daring tone.

"Because princess, I have a few questions."

"Fine, I'll come." I secretly wanted to come, the truth about me is simple. My heart has always wanted to be evil. But, when my favorite villain is threatened, I'm going to do anything I can to get rid of that threat, that includes becoming good. I always tried to battle Ice when our team went off to battle with his team. I always tried to make it look like I was trying hard, but I just wanted to let him get away. That's what happens when you fall in love with someone you have to fight every single week.

I froze time, and we jumped out of the ship. We went to the bar and found a room. I unfroze time. The thing about this bar is simple. You pick a room, fight, loser buys first round.

"I'll be right back, princess," Freeze told me and he left the room. I didn't usually fight by freezing time and just winning in there, that was against the rules. Usually I just fought like Ninja had taught me when I first got my powers. It was so weird to be working closely together with her once more. She had departed from the team along with Techo, a man who was really good with tech. At that time, it became me, and Past and Future.

"So, we all left someone behind," Freeze started pointing his gun at me. I turned around and took a metal pole out of a slash in the back of my white suit.

"So?" I said dodging the first blast.

"So, who is Hunter J King?" He asked looking at me with a look of questioning. He shot at me once more, this time it hit the metal rod in my hand.

"He's no one of importance," I said as I started to fight back tears.

"Well then, this photo of you the captain, and someone who looks to be his twin is not important?" Cold said holding up a photograph of me hugging Captain J King's twin brother as he sat next to us.

"Where did you find that?" I asked a little suspiciously.

"In Captain J King's office."

"Fine," I started looking at the photo, I remembered that day, the day I got engaged. We were all together on a hike, it was before the captain had to  go off again on a voyage. He had suggested it, and when we got to the top of the mountain, Hunter had proposed to me. I didn't like that day. There was someone else in the world I wanted to be with more than Hunter. He was bad, just like I wanted to be.

"That is my fiance, the captain's brother. I hated him, but my mom made me stay with him because he is a big competitor with Ms. Olivia and my mom thought I would be happy with lots of money. When truly, I would have been happy with the crime life."

"And someone who's in it," Cold finished for me.

"Yes, I guess you could say that."

"But you couldn't because your organization put a brain bomb in my head and threatened to kill me if you went bad."

"How'd you know?" I asked.

"Easy, I can tell by the way you look at me, let me get away, and of course, I have a brain bomb in my head which I figured out using this ships scanners."

Freeze gave me a drink which he had picked up. "To, the person I love," he said and clanked the glass against mine.

"To the person I can't resits," I said and did the same back. We both drank.

A few seconds later, our coms came on.

"Everyone meet me at the bridge. We have a huge problem." I froze time and we ran toward the ship. We entered back into the ship and made it look like we were both coming from our separate rooms.

We weren't the last there luckily, the last there was my invisible sister. We don't count her as a teammate because she usually isn't there. No one actually really knew about her existence until she revealed herself to save my life. I hated her for that. She had been spying on me since I got my powers. She didn't trust me, which drove me nuts. Until, I realized I could use my powers to get away from her and make it hard for her to find me.

"Everyone," The Captain yelled looking us all in the eyes, "we have a problem. Planet 2489-564, is being invaded by planet 2489-563. They have always been enemies. We need to go help!"

"Well, why can't we let them go on with their own battles?" I asked. I got a few dirty looks from the team members. I had forgot that our captain came from that planet, with his brother. They were just like humans, but their government was awful!

"We can't because that would be unfair," Past said.

"We aren't doing anything important!" I yelled.

"Shut your mouth, Present!" Past yelled, "it is a privilege to be on this team, and the captain could take you off as easily as he put you on!"

"Stop!" Freeze yelled, "Casey is right, we need to find something else than just stopping wars. This cannot go on. We need a purpose. We are the universe's only hope. We need to help catch criminals or something, crime lords." He looked at me and I pulled a piece of paper out. "This," Freeze started, "This is a picture of Atar, he is a huge crime boss, from drug smuggling, to kidnapping he's done it all. There is a huge bounty on his head, I say we find him, and take him down!"

"Why, how would it benefit us?" Past asked.

"It would get us money to do things, not just start to be criminals ourselves, stealing supplies and all that." I started, "And, it would teach others to respect us, and teach them that we aren't just people who stop petty wars, we help the entire Universe!"

The team looked at me for a second, and then the captain spoke.

"Yes, we need to do this, and yes we will! Now, I want Past to go into the library with Ninja. Figure out everything you can about Atar. Life, Fire, work with Techo to build a weapon to take Atar down! I'm going to run coordinates, and everyone else take a break and go to your rooms to prepare for the mission."

We all went our separate ways and started to do whatever we needed to do.
