I went home that day still wiping off the remaining jell-o on my face. I’m 0-11 already this month. If this continues, I’d probably break my last year’s record of 85 jell-o shots thrown in my face for the entire school year. My life’s completely awesome, don’t you think!
I scowled. But what the hell! This is nothing but an old story anyway. When I close my eyes, things will be better.
And I’ll tell you exactly why.
“What’s with the long face? You know it doesn’t suit you.”
I turned and saw exactly what would certainly cheer me up. It’s Matty.
Ooooh Matty. You still haven’t changed, have you? Still with that gentle angel-like smile that could brighten up an entire city; even with just a plain t-shirt and short pants, you still looked like a magazine cutout; that dreamy blue eyes and gorgeous blonde hair that could totally intimidate all flowers blossoming in springtime.
He’s like a warm ray of sunshine on this cold neighborhood of busy soulless corporate people. Did I mention that we’re currently living in one of the complimentary employee houses being provided by a huge multinational company that my father works at? I hardly see actual residents here because of their towering fences so much different than the friendly neighborhood we had at the country side.
I sighed.
“Pillow?”
“Oh, yeah. Nothing. The bullies from school threw stuff at me again. Like that’s new. Tell me Matty, do I look like a trash bin to you?”
“If you’re going to be a trash bin, I’ll sure buy all the stocks for myself! Those guys are IDIOTS! C’mon. Let’s do some grocery shopping. I’ll cook you something so hearty you’ll forget all your worries…everything...
…EXCEPT ME.”
Ooooh My. I just died.
Matty is probably any girl’s ideal boy next door. Handsome, cool, kind and knows exactly how to make my heart skip a beat every time. More than just his obvious dazzling physique, he sure knows how to speak a girl’s language. Unlike other guys, he’d always go with me shopping without any complaint, hates it when I order slimming salads over satisfying burgers and pizza, loves to treat me to movies but loves it even more whenever we just spend an entire afternoon doing marathons on all our favorite American, Asian and anime series at home.
Plus. He cooks so well he could just easily make you forget all other food that landed your palate before!
Now tell me he’s not perfect? Go on. Tell me!
“Let’s go?” he stretched out his hand to me. I reached for it and we entered the nearby grocery store packed with people. And because he was just so dazzling, almost all girls were staring at our direction as this 5’11’ piece of heavenly being walked past them.
“Hold tight.”
My heart was about to burst out from my chest as he pulled me right in front of him and we started pushing the cart while I was stock in between his arms. (Can you imagine that? 0_0)
“Ah. Matty?”
“Yes?”
“Isn’t this a little awkward?”
“What is?”
“This? I mean, people around us might talk.”
“About this? But we’re not doing anything yet.”
I looked at him, puzzled by what he meant by that. Then all of a sudden, when we reached the middle of the store where most of the people were concentrated (I bet a million bucks majority of them just followed Matty around), he held me by the shoulders and made me turn around to face him. Then slowly…
…he gave me a long and gentle kiss on the tip of my nose!
“Now, they’re free to talk.”
Don’t mind the puddle. It’s just me. I just melted.
Isn’t he just the sweetest? Right? Right?
By the way, I forgot to tell you one minor detail. This lovable Boy next door over here…is one of my five consistent dream dates! Yes. You’re already in my dreams. And MATTY IS MY MONDAY DREAM GUY!
