Healing and Complications

3rd Pov.

Pein had sent Hidan, Kakuzu, Zetsu, Deidara, Sasori, and Kisame out on missions. Hidan and Kakuzu were establishing the locations of the Yonbi, Gobi, and the Nanabi, Sasori and Deidara were out bounty hunting to bring in more money for the organization while Zetsu and Kisame were searching for the Rokubi due to the fact that he hadn't been seen in over 4 years. While they were out on missions, Pein was in his office working on paperwork while Itachi, Konan, Sakura, Ino, Tenten, Temari, and Hinata were out in the training grounds.

Itachi's Pov.

As I walked towards the edge of the training grounds, to the forests edge with Konan, I could feel the apprehension wafting off of her in waves. I glanced out of the corner of my eye and saw her staring ahead at the forests edge. Even though her emotions were masked, I could tell she was worried in the downward tilt of her lips and her tight grip on my arm.

Smiling softly at her worry, I stopped and pulled her in front of me as I wrapped my arms around her waist and nuzzled my face in the crook of her neck. She momentarily stiffened in surprise before returning the embrace as she brought her arms up to wrap around my neck. I leaned back and pressed my forehead against hers and rubbed my nose against hers in an eskimo kiss as I stared into her beautiful amber eyes.

"Do not worry, love. Everything will be alright. It can't get worse, meaning that it can only get better."I said softly while rubbing her sides reassuringly.

" I know, but I can't help but worry."She replied quietly as she tightened her arms around my neck.

"Do you trust them?"I asked in return. 

"Hai."She said softly.

"Then do not worry."I said smiling softly before I unwrapped one of my arms from around her waist. She unwrapped her arms from around my neck and leaned her head on my shoulder as we continued to walk to the meeting place with the Sisters.

Sakura's Pov.

Me and my sisters were all sitting around in the clearing where I had healed Itachi. Tenten was lying down on the ground with her hands resting behind her head with Ino and Hinata using her stomach as their personal pillow while me and Temari sat next to them, watching as they rested. I could feel Itachi's and Konan's chakra signatures resuming to our destination after they had stalled for a second. While curious, I knew better than to ask when we weren't even willing to answer the simplest of questions they have for us. I may be planning behind the entire world's back, but I'm not a hypocrite.

We then saw Itachi walk through the underbrush of the trees with Konan's arm looped through his. Konan was holding on tight to his arm while Itachi just nodded politely to us in greeting. Me and Temari nodded back while Hinata, Ino, and Tenten just waved lazily before dropping their hands again on to the forest floor. I rolled my eyes at them and stood up before reaching down and grabbing Tenten's hand and pulling her up roughly. She lurched forward when she was on her feet and turned to glare at me and said in a whiny voice.

"Was that really necessary Saku-chan?"

"Yes, yes it was."I replied immediately. She glared at me with a pout on her lips before sighing in resignation.

"You truly are a piece of work, Saku-chan."

"Yes, yes I am. Now help me get everything ready and Itachi comfortable." I replied. She nodded before following me as I walked towards Itachi and Konan.

"Itachi-san, Konan-san, we understand if you're worried about the procedure that we're about to do so if you would like to know more, you should go talk to Hina-chan and Ino-chan. Tema-chan will be helping us set everything up and decontaminate everything."I told them calmly. They nodded in understanding before heading over to Ino-chan and Hina-chan to learn more.
