"Here are the rules." Pan said as he explained the game we were going to play. "When I say go you will all run out into the woods. You have an hour to go around the woods and hunt. Whoever kills anything and comes back to camp wins. The last person to come back or doesn't have anything looses. The winner will get extra food at dinner and get to pick the loosers punishment." He finished. All the boys cheered.

Im a very competitive person, so this game made me want to win. I didn't want to get the extra food or pick a punishment. I just wanted to impress.

"Ready. Set. Go!" Pan yelled and all of the boys ran off to get a weapon. I already had my bow so I got some arrows then walked into the woods.

I mostly stayed around one area hoping that the animals would come to me. After a few minutes of waiting I saw a squirrel in a tree. I loaded my bow and aimed.

I shot it but at the last second it hopped to another branch. Right as it landed on the branch I shot again and it fell to the forest floor dead.

I grabbed it and ran back to camp. I was the first one to make it back. I sat on a log near the fire waiting for the other boys to get back.

When they saw that I was the first one back, some of them were mad. But I didn't care. I was just happy I won.

After the amount of time passed Pan walked over to me and took me to the front of all the boys. Already standing there was another boy. I guessed he was the looser.

"Blake is the winner of the game. She will pick a punishment for the looser." Pan yelled. "I don't want to pick a punishment." I said and all of the lost boys looked at me confused.

"You have to. You won." Pan said and I rolled my eyes. "I don't think someone should be punished for not winning a silly game." I said and Pan looked like he was getting angry at me.

"Just pick a punishment." He snapped. "Fine. Umm. Go kiss a frog I guess." I said then tried to walk away but Pan grabbed my wrist. I look back at him.

"You have to do an actual punishment." He was getting on my nerves. "Fine instead of kissing a frog have the looser kiss you." I snapped at him. The lost boys looked shocked. I just smiled.

"No." He said. "You told me to pick a punishment and that is what I chose. It's either that or none at all." I ripped my wrist from his grasp.

All the boys were intensly watching, waiting to see if the boy would kiss Pan. "I'll pick a pick a punishment." Pan smiled. "Umm no, you won't. I won the game so I will choose, and I already chose. So it's that or nothing."

I snapped. I know it was nothing to get mad about but why did he have to get hurt for not winning. I thought it was wrong.

By now all the boys were dead silent waiting to see what happened next. Pan opened his mouth to say something but I have him a death glare. He closed it.

I then turned on my heals and walked back to my tent. When I got there I plopped down on the bed. Pan was so annoying.

I don't know how much time passed but I knew it was night when I heard the boys yelling outside my tent. I was hungry but I didn't want to go out and face Pan, so I stayed put.

I hoped that Bae would come to my tent. My prayers were answered when the flap of my tent opened.

"Hey." He walked in and sat on the bed next to me. He gave me a plate of meat. "Thanks." I said and ate.

We sat in a comfortable silence until I spoke. "Why does Pan want people to get hurt? It's messed up." I say and hi shrugged. "No clue."

After a few more minutes he left. I was happy I had a friend on the island. I don't know what I would do without him.
