Chapter One.

I hate Mondays. They always sneak up on me like some kind of weird ninja thing. Nobody likes you Monday! Oh stop crying about it, you whinebag! Obviously no kids or even adults are going to like the day that kickstarts your week of work and or school.

I take a slow peak at my alarm clock and see the thing I dreaded most: the time. It's seven am and that means I have to get up and shower if I don't want to look like something my dad just shot and killed.

No, my dad is not a murderer. Although that would make a great story... I was talking about animals, deer, bears, moose, turkeys, ducks. He hunts them all. Don't look so grossed out, we've saved so much money on meat throughout the years.

I'm off topic.

I pull my cozy duvet over my aching body and head for the bathroom with my shower stuff in hand. I won't give you the steamy details (get it, steamy! Because the shower is hot... Forget it..) of my shower because that's gross. But I will tell you that it left me feeling like I was finally awake.

I open my closet and get out my favourite pair of jeans (a pair of dark, boot cut with rhinestones on the front pockets) and pair it with a fitted v-neck. The pants feel kind of loose so I wrap my brown belt and hook my buckle on that says 'Country Girl'.

Last minute I decide to put on a simple ball cap, then I'm out of my room.

Chocolate Cheerios, possibly the greatest gift from sweet baby Jesus himself. I swear I wouldn't be able to live without them.

I grab a white bowl and pour some in, popping one or two- fine, a handful!- into my mouth as I get the milk. I shove spoonfuls into my mouth like a hungry caveman until all there's left is some chocolatey milk. I slurp it all up before grabbing my bag and heading out to wait for the bus.

Yes the bus. It's only a big, ugly, yellow, present from Satan. I just love the sound of screeching children in the morning! (Sarcasm *cough*)

I climb the stairs, smiling at my sweet old bus driver. I get to my usual seat and pull out my headphones and put on some music. As more kids get on the atmosphere goes louder and so does my music. When we finally reach the middle school and drop the brats off I'm practically seething. I can finally turn down my music so that Jason Aldean isn't screaming at me.

School is pretty good for me. I have good grades, and friends. Plus, I have my super hot boyfriend Carter.

Carter is a city boy through and through. How did I- the definition of country girl- get with him? Well, a year ago Carter walked into school looking different in his low hung pants, snap back hat, and blond hair that went over his forehead. I'd never really seen someone be so different and still so confident. As he walked down the hall for the first time in his life he smiled at me and made me feel some feelings that I later found out were the beginnings of a crush. Carter had the same feelings for me and we started dating much to everyone's dismay.

I open the front entrance to the school and search for Carter. I swear sometimes he's the only one that can keep me sane. He sticks out like a sore thumb in this backwoods school. I spot him and walk/jog over to where he's standing. I reach my arms around his waist and breathe his scent in.

"Hey, babe," he whispers in my ear as we hug.

I mean to say hi but it comes out muffled and awkward due to the fact that my face is pressed against his sweater.

He lets out a chuckle. "What's wrong?"

I pulled back and look at his face. His blue eyes look picturesque with his fair skin and light blonde hair. He's wearing his usual red SnapBack with a burgundy sweater and light khakis. He might not be my type, but he is hella fine. "I hate my bus." I say with a whiney voice.

His eyes light up with humour and his lips pull back to reveal two perfect rows of teeth. "Why don't you take the one that comes right to here?"

We've been over this before. It's the one thing I hate about Carter; he loves to recycle conversations.

"Sh! We've already had this conversation and you know it." I slap him playfully on the chest.

He laughs, his minty breath wafting to my nostrils. My eyes are suddenly drawn to his mouth. His pale pink lips, perfect teeth, and that dimple! He catches me staring and we lock eyes. I know what's coming next and I prepare myself for the fireworks. He leans his head down and slowly but surely connects our lips.

When we kiss it's like the first time all over again.

All of a sudden a dark thought crosses my mind: what would I do if we broke up?

The thought makes me pull away and look at the time on my phone. There's still five minutes until class but my locker is all the way at the other side of the school. "I've got to go get my books and stuff, I'll see you later, okay?"

"See you in art, babe," he calls to me while I begin the jog to my locker.

The whole day I can't get the thought of Carter and I's future out of my head.

So, do you like? Yes, no? Maybe? Is there anything I can better? Do the characters make sense so far? I didn't know what song to put, so I just picked one of my favourites. :)
