Chapter seven

We were all up and in the kitchen having breakfast. Jason and I were off to work, Nina was going to stay here and spend time with Leo. She was only going back to school next week Tuesday, a lucky girl she was." Jason after work I'm going to visit Daisy so I might come home a little late, do you mind handling dinner?"

" I'll make dinner," said Leo as he was playing with Nina's hair." Oh my gosh thank you! Well let me get going," I said then gave Jason and Nina a kiss before heading out.

I walked to my car and placed my bags in the car than closed the trunk door and walked to the driver's door." Samsara," called out Leo and I turned to face him." What's up Leo?"

" Are you feeling better?"

" Yes, I'm better, your perception about the situation made me feel better. You held some valid points."

" Just here to help."

" In a normal world I should've shared this with my husband, but I'm glad I shared it with you, my husband wouldn't have seen it the way that you did."

"As I said, I'm here to help you with anything and I'm always available to listen, and if you need me to talk I'll talk."

" I'll be taking you up on that offer quite often," I said offering him a big smile." I'll see you later Leo and please don't burn my house."

" I can't promise anything," he said and we both laughed." Bye Leo."

" Bye Angel," he said then walked away. He called me Angel, that was cute.

I walked into the office and Mike walked to me, not looking very happy. " Morning Samsara."

" Morning Mike, so what couldn't wait that you even met me at the elevator?"

" Mrs. Washington was having an affair," he said and I felt as if I couldn't breathe for a second. This couldn't be happening, why would she do something so reckless. The detectives were going to be on her case." How did you find out?" I asked and we started walking to my office." The boyfriend came forward."

" Why would he do that?"

" He was tired of hiding their relationship, he wanted to freely be with her."

" Yeah, well, the dumb ass doesn't realize how serious this is," I said feeling rather frustrated. This woman's case wasn't looking pretty at all, but maybe it wasn't anything to worry about. We just needed to hear her side of the story.

We were in my boss's office, Mike and I wanted to talk to him about the case and the difficulties regarding the case." Mr. Pearson, detectives think that the wife might've planned to kill the husband, and with her having a boyfriend while in the marriage, it doesn't really help her case?"

" If you really think about it she could've had a motive to kill."

" Like what Mr. Pearson," I asked, not believing that he was actually siding with the detectives." She and the boyfriend could've planned a lavish life and that money was going to guarantee that lavish life."

" But sir?"

" Samsara you're good with judging character, analyze her and see for sure if she really wouldn't do such," he said and he really did have a point." Sir if she happens to be guilty I can't and won't represent her because you and I both know that I don't fight for criminals."

" That's fine, we'll hand it over to someone else," he said and the meeting was over.
