Ever since i was tiny, you could more or less find me in a tree,
My mother used to panic when i was so high up she could only find my position by small movements of the branches,
"Come down my Prince your going to fall and hurt yourself" She would Call up to me as she sat on the ground.
But i kept climbing, i loved it, the feeling of the rough bark against my bare skin, The slight stickness of the sap as i brushed against the pines,
Not once was i scared i would fall, Not even for a moment did i doubt my hands or my feet,
i climbed higher and higher until the branches began to thin and the sunlight was bright and cast shadows of the branches all over me, I climbed unti i couldnt climb anymore, I pinned myself beetween the fork of two narrow branchis crossing in an x and placed my feet against lower branches,
I looked out,
You could see the swamp on one side ith its brown water and mud encrusted banks, with multiple logs sticking up at odd angles, but on the otherside, if you looked you could see ofver the tops of all the other trees, and at the end of the forest, The ruins of Redrock Castle, And beyond the ruins, the Sea. It was so far away it looked like a tiny blue needle on the horizon but i knew,
I will go there one day.
As i decended i looked down, The tiny body of my mother was far below me, Looking up at me from where she sat, Her long blonde hair was cast over the ground like a halo, and her dress was billowing out around her,
As i climbed lower and lower she sat up,
"Hello my little prince, How was the view." She said her smile widening across her face,
My mother is like that, She has a way of making people feel safe even when she dosnt try too.
If i had known this would be the last of her i would see for a long time, I would have hugged her and never let go, If.
