War *Erwin X Reader*

                      YOUR POV

Debris fly everywhere as the bombs fall, you curse the enemy. You were fighting in a war for your country's freedom after 100 years of slavery. The resistance grew stronger and stronger every passing year until
they had enough firepower to fight back completely.

You joined up with your friend, Erwin Smith at the age of 14, got placed in a Special Force Team and been on the battlefield ever since.

"(Y/N)!"
Erwin yelled.

"Get to the left side and distract them!"

"Yes Sir!"
You yell back. Yes Erwin is the captain of the team and you were second in command.
You lead your teammates to the left and started shooting. Waiting for the signal, you ready a grenade. The flare goes up in the sky, you pull the ring off the grenade and throw it into the enemy's trenches, your teammates do the same.

You start to run for cover, you leap into a hole as just the trenches explode.

"Huh, Hanji's invention actually worked."

You mutter to yourself. You watch as your comrades run and take the enemy's territory. You get up from the hole and jogged to HQ.

Later~

You meet up with Erwin and Hanji in the commander's tent. The commander gave you your next mission details and are dismissed. The moment you step outside of the tent, Hanji started squealing about how her special grenades worked out.

"OMG, I told you that it works! I'm going to make more and start on guns that shoot multiple bullets at a time!"

Then she slides up to you and whispered

"I will leave you two to get together closer, alright?"

And before you can protest, she runs away, leaving you and Erwin together alone.

"Damn it Hanji." You mutter, but you were grateful to her for leaving you and Erwin together.
Ever since you first became friends with Erwin you had a major crush on him and have been trying to get close to him.

You look up at Erwin. Noticing your stare, Erwin turns to look at you. You blush and look away. This always happens. On the battlefield, you were absolutely fine when you are near him and together, you two were a formidable pair, but in HQ you get all embarrassed around him and fidget a lot.

"(Y/N)" Erwin says, breaking the silence.

"Y-yes!" You squeak

"Let's go and train. Hand to hand combat."

Your blush deepens as you nodded.

"Great! Let's go to the training ground."

                   ERWIN'S POV

Erwin chuckles as he watched (Y/N)'s reaction at the question. He was aware of (Y/N)'s crush on him and he liked her back but he haven't confessed because he doesn't know when he will die on battlefield and doesn't want to break (Y/N)'s heart, so it best to stay as friends.

The next mission... it is the most dangerous they ever got and many life's will be lost. He doesn't want
(Y/N) in the piles of bodies of the fallen... He can't stand it......

                     YOUR POV
As you get into position, you notice that Erwin had a distracted look and so you sneakily went behind him and tackled him down. Erwin shocked face came to view, his bushy eyebrows raised up high in shock.
You bust out laughing, this was the first time you actually managed to bring him down.

Then suddenly, you were flipped upside down, you on the bottom and Erwin on the top.

"Always keep your guard up (Y/N)."

Erwin whispered in your ear. You blush at the close contact and wriggled your way out of his grasp. You stood up and pouted at him saying

"Speak for yourself, I managed to tackle you down!"

You turned away from him, still pouting, then you felt yourself get picked up. You squeal, and try to escape
"Let me down Erwin!"

"No."

You laugh and try to tickle him, ending up both of you lying on the ground. You smile at him, you were glad that your were alive to meet this man.

Time skip to the battle~

You were losing, the enemy managed to get a hold of cannons and are wrecking the HQ and battlefield. All your teammates are died and you fractured your collarbone, you sprint to were Erwin's team was.

You join up with Erwin and give him that stats of the battle.

"The enemies line has almost break into the trenches, at this rate, we will lose the HQ!"

Erwin looked conflicted, as much as you want to give him time to think, time was not on your side.

"Erwin! What are your orders!"

He turns to you

"Go back with my team to help hold out the front lines."

"What about you!"

"I will go and forward mission Sina."

Your eyes widens. Mission Sina was the last backup plan, it was a suicidal last ditch plan. It involved running into the enemies base and blow up the whole entire base. No one has ever came back.

"No! You can't!"

"I have to and you are to be the next captain (Y/N)."

He turns around, preparing to run into the waiting arms of death.

                    ERWIN'S POV

I turn around, unable to look at (Y/N)'S shocked and upset face. I have to do this and I want (Y/N) to continue living.

As I get ready to run into the enemies base, I hear someone's gear drop to the ground. It was (Y/N), also preparing to run.

"What are you doing! Go back to base and hold out the line!"

"No."

"This is an order! Go and defend HQ!"

"I refuse to obey."

"Why!"

"Because I love you!"

"Because I love you!"

You yell to him. You start to tear up.

"Don't you get it! If you die, I don't be able to live without you!"

Your voice cracks and you start sobbing.

"I don't want you to die, I want to be with you forever."

You were suddenly enveloped in a warm and strong hug, you look up.
Erwin looked down at you.

"I love you too."

He leans down and you kiss, it was bittersweet but you melted into it.

Erwin's hand intertwine with yours.

"Together."

"Forever?"

"Forever."

You smile at each other and charge into battle.
