My head was pounding. I opened my eyes to realise that I was flying, high above the ash of burnt trees.

"Oh good! You're awake! Are you okay? How are you feeling? What's my name? Do you have any idea how to fly a griffon because we're about to crash?!" Zéphryn clouded me with questions. I quickly held him by his shirt collar and pulled him behind me. I leaned forward and steered Jeanette to fly north. My hair was tangling with each gust of wind while Zéphryn held onto my waist tightly, like a sloth on a tree trunk.

Finally we landed. On snow.

"Where are we? Why are we here, wherever here is?" Zéphryn asked, shivering in the cold.

"This is where I keep most of my supplies." I responded as I gestured Zéphryn and Jeanette to come into the cave. "It's my secret supply of, well, everything. I build it over the past month. It's away from civilisation. Which is why we're here."

"Why?" He asked in a soft tone.

"What do you mean? We're here because this is the only place I know where people won't throw rotten fruit at me along with side-dishes of insults. Plus, you won't survive off of those berries so, I brought you here." I replied.

"I meant; why did you level almost the entire Fallwayne? I know you were forced to, but you never told me, why?"

"I'll tell you later, but first, you have to tell me what's going on with the mortals? On Ert?"

"It's called Earth. They discovered our planet. They tried to communicate with us using a form of morse code. Of course, they didn't stop. The core generator was the main thing stopping our planet from being seen and from potentially exploding."

"Why did someone want to steal it?"

"No idea."
