Nine point one
AETHAN
“What?! Seriously?! That’s like a hundred miles away!” I retorted.
It was the start of another day to continue our quest in retrieving the sap of an unknown tree. We were having our breakfast while discussing our next plan for the quest. Our next destination based on the map given by our quest giver was the Queen’s Bench. According to Stam, my very optimistic goblin guide, it is only an hour walk away from town then he pointed at a distant mountain, which for me is a week journey on foot. If only I have the ability to invent a means of transportation for us to use. It’s tiring to walk every day!
“Are you complaining? You don’t need to come with us. Glitch here could use a babysitter.” Maren said with a smile.
“Oh no, no, no, I’m cool. . . I just said it’s an adventure. Yay, I want more adventures!”
“That’s what I said.” I knew that she was just teasing.
“Let’s go on an adventure. Let’s pretend and you will see.”
We all turned to Seiko. She noticed we all looked at her.
“Barney is a nice choice!” Seiko exclaimed with a shrug.
“Don’t worry Aethan. We could use the help of Seiko’s speed buff, right Seiko?” Yana was and is my only savior.
“Yeah! I have rested well so I can use it for all of us now. I think we could arrive at that mountain within a couple of hours.”
There was also the argument regarding Glitch.
“I won’t let Glitch stay here without a puffy-sitter,” Maren said with the creature in her hands. Uhmn, she’s starting to be a pet-lover.
“She has no help in our quest. Maybe it is safer for her to stay. And also, are you not aware of her disappearing in the middle of our encounter with our enemies?” You know who has the guts of contradicting Maren.
And the heated argument continued with so many restricted words being heard from the two of them. It was a little bit crazy to think how small things like this led to a battle of profanities between Drial and Maren. The exchange of awesome words was stopped when Seiko suggested leaving Glitch in the care of Astal. Then we started our journey towards our search for the suit.
With the help from Seiko’s speed buff, we arrived at the Queen’s Bench in less than two and a half hours which was so much convenient for me, except for some minor accidents like taking an unplanned swim on a swamp and challenging a cute bunny (long story) which majorly involves me.
Queen’s Bench was a part of a mountain; a great place to go trekking and hiking. The place could be described like a meadow, full of grass and bushes with blooming flowers, except for the fact that the mountain was full of rocks, not just ordinary rocks but huge boulders. The whole place was sufficiently supplied with boulders, from life-sized to giant-sized. I couldn’t imagine where all these rocks came from, but since this was only a vision from a game I dismissed the thought right away.
“Uhm, guys? Any idea where the Queen’s Bench is? I mean there is no golden throne here for a queen to use as a chair,” I asked because nobody wanted to ask that stupid question except me.
Silence is their answer.
Find it! You awesomely stupid cow! I thought to myself. But since my eyes were very slow, I just repeated the question to the person I knew would answer anyway.
“Yana, could you answer my question, please?” I turned to Yana disregarding the comment that will be expressed.
As an answer, she pointed at the rock on our front left. And this was not like the huge irregular rocks scattered in the surroundings.
