Basesoftball

Setting: The field from the last epilog. The field is covered in scorch marks and debris from the night’s battle. All of the trolls and humans are on the ground sound asleep.

Doc Scratch: (Teleports into the fore ground) Hello again, I am the omnipotent first guardian Doc Scratch, the host of today's events and these tired little creatures behind me (points to the sleeping players) are the competitors. I have set up a series of different trials they will go through for prizes, their lives, and most importantly of all our amusement. Don’t they all just look adorable? I wonder what they are dreaming, is what I would say if I hadn’t already set up their dreams for tonight (lets out a light chuckle and teleports out).

(The page is now split down the middle. On the left side is Derse and on the right is Prospit. The Panels then change to the black and white palaces and then the throne rooms, which have been converted into conference rooms, are set up with long table’s lines with the sleeping dreamers. At the end of each table are projectors and in front of them a giant screen. As the dreamers begin to stir and wake the projector starts up and displays the cherubs face.)

Prospit:

Calliope: Wakey wakey everyone. It is time for the next game.

Karkat: Fuck you! Why don't you take your fucking game and shove it up your/

Jane: Karkat hush. I apologize for his rudeness Calliope.

Calliope: It's okay Jane. He is really not that different than Caliborn.

Karkat: How dare you compare me to that asshole. 

John: Well it is kind of understandable. I mean the first time you talked to me you were basically threating me.

Karkat: Fuck you Egbert.

Calliope: *Ahem* Excuse me, but if you all are done I still need to inform you about today's game.

Rufioh: Go ahead doll.

Calliope: *giggle* Thank you Mister Nitram (Rufioh smiles and winks). Now as I was saying, soon we shall begin the next game. Today's game will be Softball.

Kanaya: I hope you can forgive my ignorance, but what is Softball?

Kankri and Areana: Softball is and Earth game that humans play for fun and competition. In this sport there are two teams. One team is placed in certain locations around the playing area, more formally known as the diamond, while one person takes their place at a pitcher’s mound and throws a ball at a member of their other team called a batter. The other team is placed in a line-up of their choosing, and whoever is in front is given a bat and is tasked with hitting the ball being thrown at them into the rest of the playing area. If the batter successfully hits the ball, they then have to have to run to a plate of sorts referred to as a base. In the game there are three four bases, each one at a different point of the diamond. The batter must proceed to cross three of the bases, in order of course, and then run to the last base which is actually located in the place they were batting from. If the batter succeeds, then there team will earn a point. While the batter is trying to reach all of the bases the opposing team must retrieve the ball and try to tag the runner or the bases with it in order to stop them and earn an out. There are two ways to earn out's either the pitcher has to throw the ball and the batter must swing the bat but not hit the ball and receive a strike. If a batter gets three strikes their team gets an out. If a team gets three outs then the roles are reversed. That's about all there is to the game. Fun Fact, Softball is actually a downgraded version of a popular Earth sport called Baseball. Baseball is played by a team of specially trained males, while Softball is played by females, children, the physically inept, and/
