Her mother never liked her to venture the sea since there are sharks and other deadly fish out there and didn't want Neveah to get hurt. Her dad was usually never around due to his job as a guard, aka trying to protect the town from sharks coming in or something. When her dad was home she would never be able to sneak out since he was a guard he knew every trick, so she would always be stuck.
