TAEHYUNG

I stand by the side of the abandoned bridge. The cold gush of wind slapping across my face. I barely see anyone come to this place. I clasp my hands infront of me with my elbows resting on the rail. Darkness envelope me,  the light from the moon only a little but the stars on the sky are bright and beautiful. I miss them. I slowly spin my ring around my ring finger and sighing multiple times.  My breath coming out as smoke. I ignore the cold that hugs me.

I'm tired of trying but I can't give up on Kleah and Sul Hee. I want them back and I want to fix my life. With a last glance at the sky, tears begin to roll down my cheeks as I enter my car to go to Kleah's house again. I have to keep trying. I won't rest until I have them back. I start my car engine and drive out of he abandoned bridge, driving across a small alley and then a quiet road. Some of the street lights flicker and it seems quite spooky.

A few cars pass by like thunderbolt and from afar,  I see another car coming towards my direction. What the hell is wrong with that driver? Why's he on the wrong way? I move to the side to avoid the upcoming vehicle, but as I do so,  it came straight up to my bumper and I'm thrown to the other side of the road in an inverse position. My window and windshield shattered. I feel blood trickling down my forehead and a broken piece of glass pierced through my arm.

From my cracked windshield I see cars stopping and people rushing to help me.  Not too long after that,  an ambulance came blaring and I was pulled out of my car. My eyes gave in but before it shut, my visions showed me Kleah and Sul Hee smiling at me.

KLEAH

the three of us sit by the couch, watching a television show while munching junk foods.  The clock had struck 9PM. I lean back when the television came up with a breaking news.  While the reporter spoke,  my heart began to pound so hard against my chest. Then they flashed a car in an inverse position and a person,  particularly a guy being pulled out carefully and then placed on the stretcher.

'The man is known as Kim Taehyung, former member o---"

My world totally fell in silence. That name. Kara and Sul Hee looked at me, their faces worried. Before I knew it,  I stormed out of he house and driving to the said hospital on the TV. What happened to him? Tears stream down my cheeks to the very thought of him being in danger. Quickly parking my car,  I run inside the hospital and charging right to the emergency room. His parents are there with is grandmother, bawling.

As his grandmother caught sight of me, she rushed to me slapping me on my face multiple times and saying it's my fault that this happened to Taehyung. She was crying, pulling my hair and non stop slapping me.

"Eomma, eomma, please stop." his mother jumped in, pulling me away from his grandma.

"Taehyung got in a car accident because of you! Get out of here!" she yells.  I hang my head low while sobbing. His mom caress my back as she tells me to sit on one of the chairs while waiting for the OR light to turn green.  It felt so long waiting that my legs are shaking but soon the doors opened. The doctor came out and I held my breath,  not ready for his news.

"Your son is fine, Mr. Kim. Only that he broke his right leg." the doctor says.  I sigh and I immediately stand beside his mother.

"Will he still be able to walk?" I ask.

"Yes, he will after a few therapy sessions then he'll be fine." the doctor answers. I sigh in relief but my knees weaken and I drop on the ground.  Tears raced down my cheeks once again. This is my fault. I gave him too much to think. I hurt him.

10.05PM

he was moved to his room. His parents and grandma came in first and I stayed outside although I'm aching to see him and hold him. I stare at the door and it seems that the white painting has gone interesting if you stare at it for long. The door creak open and his mother comes out.  She sits beside me,  holds my hand and smiles.

"How are are you and Sul Hee?" she asks with a soft voice.

"We're fine,  eomonni." I answer with a weak smile.

"You know, Kleah,  it pains me to see my son coming home each night, drunk and saying he has failed a simple job for being a good husband and father." she starts. "but all I can do is say he isn't to atleast ease the pain in his heart although I know he has failed to do his job for his family. He's my son. I don't like seeing him get hurt."

"I just want to ask you, do you still love my son?" she adds in.  I fall silent for a moment.

"Yes,  eommoni, I still love him." I answer and she smiles brightly.

"Then think about it." she says and pulls me up.  "Get in and talk to him. He's awake."

Before I get in,  his father and grandma comes out. My whole body feels so weak as if in one strong gush of the wind,  I'd fall. I enter and close the door behind me. The bruises and cuts on his face. His broken leg raised up, I cried again. His eyes avert to me then his lips curl into a small smile.

"You're here." he says. I sit on the chair beside his bed and wipe my tears. "How are you and Sul Hee?"

"You idiot, don't worry about us. Worry about yourself." I say and snifle.

"I heard Halmoni slapped you." he says. He holds my cheek and gently caress it with his thumb. With the abrupt contact, a felt electrifying sensations run down my veins. "Does it still hurt?"

"N-no." I answer. "How about you are you okay?"

"I will be." He smiles and pinches my nose. How can he act as if this is nothing? As if nothing happened to him?
