It is 1935, and Sally and Jack-Earl are 28 years old. Sally is having a birthday party in her honour. Sally is a writer in the local paper, and Jack-Earl is a politician.

They have invited 10 guests.
Mr Peter Adamson

Vincent Montgomery
Ms Sylvester
James Felicity
Maxwell Rogers
Mr Greyson
Mrs Greyson

James is Sally's 15 year old brother. James wants to be a footman with his best friend Maxwell Rogers. Sally now owns the house she grew up in with Jack-Earl. Ms Ryman didn't want to live in the place her fiancé died in.

Sally is engaged to Jack-Earl. Because of some protests because they were adoptive siblings, they legally dropped the adoption records in 1925. When they were both 18.

The 10 guests are spread around the house. Mr Adamson is playing pool with James, Maxwell and Mr Appleton. Mrs Greyson is having afternoon tea with Mrs Pinkerton, Mrs Sylvester and Sally. Vincent, Mr Greyson and Jack were listening to the radio in the sitting room.

Sara McGregor hadn't been seen by anyone for a little while, but she did tell Maxwell she was going to the Conservatory.

Sally had almost finished her tea, when she heard a scream come from the conservatory. On the floor was Maxwell Rogers with rope burns to his neck. James was crying and shaking Maxwell's lifeless body. Sally and Jack knew they had another mystery, so they examined the body.
