I looked at her frame as she walks away. She spat the most painful words but why does it feel like she's hurting more than I do.

And as I watch her fade from the distance, I ask myself: If I am to go back in the past, will I still choose to love her, knowing very well that my love would only destroy her? If I had ignored the fluttering of my heart then, maybe right now she's as happy as she used to be before she met me.

We are both prisons of circumstances---she of her past and me of my future. The present is what left for us but what do we do when the present itself is killing us. We could have never known each other's existence if not for fate. But the fate that brought us together is the same fate that broke us into pieces.

Fate, indeed, has two ways of crushing us---by neglecting our wishes and by fulfilling them.
