There I was sitting by my window watching the rain fall down on earth's surface. My life isn't depressing. I'm just a boring person as my brother would say. I've been living with my brother since I was eight. He's basically like a dad to me. Sometimes I don't need a dad I just need someone to be there.
I got away from the window and laid down on my bed looking at my phone. Brena texted me. I'll text her later I told myself. I heard a knock on my door. "Come in", I said. Ugh. It was Gretchen. Gretchen is Danny's girlfriend. She gets on my nerves. She has like this power over my brother to get him to agree to anything she wants to do.
" Oh ,its just you I thought you were Danny",I said. She gave me this little goofy smile. "You know normal kids would go out and play in the rain", she stated. I looked at her." Maybe I'm not normal. Just leave me alone ." She didn't say anything. She turned away and walked out the room. Ugh!
I grab my backpack and notebooks. Then walked down stairs. "You ready for school Lizzy", Danny asked. I didn't make any smart remarks I just put a fake smile on my face and nodded. He smiled back. Then looked at Gretchen. " Umm...Lizzy I know I was supposed to drive you to school but I have to go to work early. So Gretchen will be driving you to school",he said. This day couldn't get worse.

The drive to school was silent and tension grew. I know she doesn't like me I can feel it. "Did you brush your hair", she asked. I mumbled no. " What I couldn't hear you",she said. "I said NO. Your not my mom stop acting like you are", I snapped. Thank god she pulled up at school.
