She shivered as she closed the door behind her.
"Quite a cold night, eh?" Her voice sounded throughout the room. She tried to hide how hard her body was shaking. Two people soundlessly nodded.
She placed her things on the counter as she had always done before. Everything looked alright. Nothing sounded wrong. She sat on the couch, wrapping herself in blankets. The shaking ebbed, but did not cease. A distant voice sounded from the tv.
Someone began to walk to their room. "You sleeping in your bed tonight?" They asked her. It was a while before she responded.
"Oh. Yeah." She quietly answered. Her warm smile hid the exhaustion in her eyes. One other stayed with her in the room, unmoving.
"You ok?" They had asked. She barely heard the voice.
"Yeah, I'm alright. Just cold." She answered, her shivering keeping her awake. Her voice seemed more distant than usual. She soon went into her room, and laid upon her old bed.
She felt warm, yet she shivered. She heard distant whispers of her name, yet not a sound was made. Slowly, time had begun to stop. She let out a sigh, and smiled. Her shivering had finally stopped. She let out a breath, letting herself fall unconscious. The night slowly passed.
In the coming hours, a scream sounded from that very room.
