Alicia's POV
6 months later
"He's an asshole. This one time, he came to me telling me that I don't deserve to be in his class, because I always feel sleepy whenever he gave us a lecture. Well, it's not my fault, is it? He's boring." Mark says, making me chuckle.
It's been 6 months since we graduated, and we're officially a university student. It feels.....different. I must say that being a university student is stressful and fun at the same time.
Stressful because first of all, I have tons of project to do. Second of all, Mark can't be here with me, which makes me feel stress because I usually think about him whenever I feel stress and need someone to talk to. And he feels the same.
Right now, we're facetiming each other and Mark is talking about one of his lecturers from his university, which is quite funny for me. He looks so cute when he's frustrated.
"You know that university is totally different from highschool, right? It's a good thing that he told you that, it means he cares. Most of the lecturers don't care and just let you sleep at their classes, which is suck because the next thing you know, they decided to give you a C." I say, looking at his adorable face on my phone screen.
"I'm still not used to it, you know." he says, no wonder why he said that. He used to sleep all the time when he was in highschool.
"Well, you gotta used to it." I reply while taking a few of my notebooks from the shelf.
"What are you doing?" Mark asks when he saw me taking a few things and put it inside my bag.
"Packing things that I'm gonna need for today's classes." I say, still busy putting things on my bag.
I have class in 30 minutes, and it takes 15 minutes of walk from my dorm to my university. Yes, I'm not living with my parents anymore, because the distance between my parents' house to my university is quite far away. That's why I decided to move out and live in a dorm instead.
"What time is your class?" Mark asks again.
"11:30" I quickly say and bring my bag to my shoulder.
Mark raises his wrist to check the time on his watch, "then you have 25 minutes left." he says.
"Yeah." I open the door and heading out from my dorm's building.
New York looks crowded as always. But that's one of the reasons why I love being here, it's always crowded, making me feel like I never alone.
"Anyway, you do remember that next month, it will be our one year anniversary, right?" Mark asks, making me smile. He remembers.
"How could I forget?" I say.
"Good. Cause I'm coming to New York to celebrate it with you." he says, making me stop in the middle of the road. Don't worry, I'm not in the car lane.
"No way." I say, looking at him in disbelief.
We haven't met for 6 months, and I've missed him so much. But, as much as I want to meet him, I know that we both still have classes at that time, our summer break is still on July, and it's only January now.
"Yes way. I've already checked the calendar. Our anniversary is at February 11th, which is going to be Saturday. I can take a night flight at February 10th." he explains and I'm still looking at him in disbelief.
"But how about your classes?" I ask him, I started to walk again, because I realized I only have 15 minutes left until my class starts.
"I have no class at Saturday." he says, and I smile at him.
"You've planned all of this?"
"Not really, to be honest. Miles is the one who told me that girls love surprises, but knowing me, I'm always honest to you, that's why I told you that I'm coming to New York." I laugh at his answer. Why is he so cute.
"How's Miles?" I ask. Miles and Mark go to the same university, it's good to know that Miles will always be there for him when I can't be there for Mark. And it's also good to know that Miles always tell me everything about Mark, so I don't need to worry that he will cheat on me.
"He's okay, I guess. I'm not sure either."
"Why?" I ask, raising one of my eyebrows.
"I think he has a crush on someone, but he doesn't want to show it."
I chuckle, "really? that fast?"
"Well, you fell in love with me at first sight." Mark shrugs his shoulder.
"What? That's not correct at all!" I say, defending myself.
"But you know that Miles is quite popular amongst girls, right? No wonder he has a lot of girls coming at him." he says.
I nodded my head while entering my university's bulding.
"What about you?" I ask.
"What about me?"
"Aren't you popular amongst girls as well? How's girls at California?" I ask, teasing him. He hates it when I ask him this question.
"Stop it, Storms. You're the only one for me." his answer is making me blush.
"I gotta go. My class starts in 5 minutes." I say, avoiding his eye contact because honestly, I can feel that my heart is beating so fast when I heard his answer.
"Okay, talk to you later. I love you." he says. It's really weird hearing an 'I love you.' from Mark Thunders. Although, he has said it so many times, but still, no one thinks that Mark Thunders can be a sweet guy, not even me.
"I love you too." I say, ending the call and heading to my class.
Being in a university is like a new beginning for me. Everything seems different like I said.
But this is the new beginning that I've been waiting for.
