Prologue

The thick smell of smoke wafted into Harry's noise; he knew he was conscious.

Although he felt nauseated and couldn't possibly tell what was real and what wasn't, he was on his feet faster than you can say up. He knew he had drank a lot—and nights like this Harry avoided like diseases. He was always excessive with his drinking especially in times of heart break or celebrations.

Harry noticed his surroundings after blinking for a fraction of a minute. He was enclosed in four walls of a dimly, blue-bulb room. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he noticed figures splatted on the floor where he later realized were woman whom were stripped of their clothing. His first instinct ordered him to run. He was not about to face jail time for what he thought he might have done to these women. But seeing as he had his clothes on and a faint remembrance of a promise of no hook-ups, he knew it couldn't have been true.

The smoke in the air triggered Harry to check the halls for an explanation where he found it looming with smoke and indistinct sounds of firetrucks. He ran back toward the passed out women and tapped them a few times. Seeing how they were heavy sleepers he found it quite easy to pick some of the up and position them against the wall in the narrow halls. Harry took the time to help some get back into their dresses before carrying them.

He ran back for his back and looped it around his shoulders before running toward the few women that needed his help. Once they've linked arms, Harry noticed in the dark halls a glowing sign that read 'EXIT' and then picked up the pace only to be stopped by a petite girl whose features he couldn't seem to make out. But she didn't look to be in a rush as they were.

Harry found his voice, "The exit is that way, I can see it. We're right behind you."

He could have sworn he saw her eyes glow bright red. She extended her arms and before Harry and the women could even register, they all jolted back on demand and thoroughly hit their back on the concrete wall. Harry was mortified. 2 out of the 3 women have passed out except for one. She had her hands on the floor supporting her to her feet as she ambled toward Harry.

"I hope you burn in this club before you burn in hell, boy," the girl finally spoke. Her voice was low and calm. The only girl who hasn't passed out meekly walked toward Harry to help him up.

"She won't stop." The conscious girl said meekly. She leaned into Harry's ear and said, "You need to leave these women behind and save yourself. I'll distract her."

Harry couldn't speak; he was tongue-tied. He shook his head rapidly and pointed to the women passed out. The mysterious girl looked back and returned her gaze, "No. There's another exit in the opposite direction. Run for it." He held on to her wrist but she swiftly let go. Harry didn't understand why she pushed him with so much force off the vertical carpet that aligned with halls until he realized it was set on fire. And both women whom were passed out had burned.

His eyes charred, but not by the fire. Before he could even reinforce his feelings, he felt himself being lifted again and throw out of the window and landed on the roof of a car. He couldn't move. He didn't know where to go had he moved anyway.

"No!" Shouted the girl who helped him escape.

The being with supernatural abilities finally showed herself before the moonlight and Harry swore he never seen a face like this in his life. She was emotionless and immobile as she placed her cold palms on his forehead. Harry was covered in sweat and tears. His fists clenched. Her hand travelled to his hair and plucked out a curl. From there, she recited a spell and he finally blackened out.

The next thing he knew, he woke up to a world where everything was gone.
