Prologue: The girl in the alley way, many know her as Cat, but I call her Envy. I felt like apart of me was attached to me, not that I loved her but; I just don't know. My hesitant gaze as I quickly caught her with my jumping from one fire escape to the roof of a building. Someone times a quietly wonder, what if I never wandered through this district on my way home. Then all the rumors of her would just be that; rumors. Maybe I would eventually come here. I wouldn't have met any of the people I know today... I gaze up at the moon, it was full. I shouldn't stay here longer. It is the "Red Light" district after all, all kinds of things go on back here. I could be at a risk for HIV, and other STD's just by breathing. Hiking my black messenger bag over my shoulder I swiftly turned around and strutted out the alley way, more stiff than a board.

As I exited the alley way neon lights stained the streets bright greens and reds. Just to think in the day this place is dead. The thought kept replaying in my mind like a broken record. Her black hair spreading out as the wind blew through it. My last glimpse of her for that day. Envy....she walked like a cat--if cat's walked on two feet--, acted and played like a cat. If there ever was a play with a cat as the main chara' she would nail it. Fast talking and paced I could barely keep up with her. I huffed as I left the district and went home. No surprises were to await me, I live alone. I pushed open the unyielding door and sat on the supple brown couch flicking on the TV to the news channel. "Another act of graffiti was left IN FRONT of an OPEN CHINESE STORE!" They newswoman exclaimed exaggerating part. They brought a picture up of the store and in front sure enough there a cat with a stitched mouth and eyes. Not detailed just cute;"Envy.." I muttered with a smile.
