"Pinch me!"

Those were the first words that I let out of my mouth as I took in the beauty of the scene set ahead of me.

The lake where Cleo had brought me was surrounded by huge trees around it. The moon looked magnificent as it's glory reflected back in the water. It was a night of full moon and a blanket of stars had covered up the sky and I could point a thousand constellations.

"I know." I turned to glance up at Cleo, who was already staring down at me. I couldn't help but become fascinated by his green orbs.

He broke the contact, walking further towards the lake and lying down on his back in the green grass. I stood there contemplating for a moment before I pushed out every doubt from the window.

As I layed down there, the universe above me looked simply breathtaking.

I couldn't even remember the last time that I had felt this fascinated by something. It felt like the entire universe was only shining for me. In that moment nothing really mattered. Getting fired from my job didn't matter. Being single didn't matter. Being disliked by your own family didn't matter.

What mattered was only me.

Stepping into this forest with a beautiful lake was like stepping into a fantasy. A fantasy in which the moon was magnificently grinning with it's fellow stars.

And then there was Cleo, the stranger who showed me this.

"Why'd you bring me here?" I couldn't help but ask him, resting both my hands on my stomach.

"You looked pretty sad. Thought this would light you up."

He was yet intently staring at the sky like the stars would line up and give him some answers he was asking for.

"Well, that's very kind of you, Cleo. It's not everyday that you bump into people who take you to places like these, you know?"

I was genuinely surprised myself. The night had after all started quite awfully. And now these turn of events were a lot to take in.

"I guess fate was just waiting for you to bump into me, Keira Jane," his soft voice said, like he was afraid he'd wake up the life resting in the forest.

I looked at him. "You believe in fate?" I asked, amusement lacing my voice.

"I think fate is a lovely thing to believe in."

Now, I was clearly taken back.

I quickly sat up and turned to look down at Cleo who had a frown on his face.
