Chapter 1 You Cant Go

"Hey Dad how are you?"

"Good. how are you?"

"Great!"

"Why are you in a great mood today?"

"I'm going to explore the abandoned house next door."

"No to your not your going to stay here."

"But why dad?"

"Because I said so."

"Dad I'm not taking that answer again. tell me why I can't go please?"

"No the house is dangerous. it burnt down a week ago there could still be parts that fall in and I can't risk losing you too."

"Dad don't you dare talk about her."

"She was just like you. your mother had the same dark hair and she wore the same clothes. same blue eyes and the same personality as you always seeking adventures. never letting anyone get in your way and it's going to quit."

"I'm not going to quit. I like to remind myself of her. I miss her even though it was 2 years ago."

"And you've been back talking me lately. go somewhere with your friends. I can't believe you. I just need sometime alone."

"Okay sorry Dad I didn't mean to upset you." you say as he puts his face in his hands "Let me call Ashlyn."

You walk to your room thinking about what you said. you feel bad walking up the stairs and say "I'm so sorry for being like her." as you continue up the stairs.

"It's okay. I'm sorry for getting mad. I miss her too."

You go to your room and close the door.pick up your phone click the contacts and your most recent call from "💜bestie💜." you click the name and hoping she'll pick up. so you can leave. so your dad can think about things. she picks up with a soft "hello."

"Hey can I come over?"

"Yeah. let me ask my mom just a minute."

"Okay."

2 minutes later.

"Hey. I'm back but yeah you can and she said if you want to you can stay the night."

"Okay. let me get my toothbrush and hair brush."

"Okay. text me when your here so I can open the door for you."

"Alright, I'll be there in 5."

"Okay. that's fine with me. I can't wait."

"Bye bestie."

"Bye bestie."

You hang up the phone and pack your bag with pajamas and clothes to wear tomorrow and a toothbrush, deodorant, and hair brush. you go to the garage and grab your bike and put it at front of the door. you open the door tell your dad your staying the night at Ashlyn's house tonight.
He says "Okay. have fun. see you tomorrow. love you bye."
