I am awake and preparing pancakes and scrambled eggs for my boys along with some coffee.
I thank heaven, that this duplex is big, yesterday was the first time Charles and Josh stayed and I thanked Susan heartily last night. Actually this apartment is a birthday present from Susan's parents to her and that's why I have to pay slim as rent.
I gather the breakfast and head to the living room, we have a laughter-pool breakfast while I grab on to the opportunity to pull Josh legs as Charles teases him on all his ex-blonde-girlfriends.
After an hour, I hug Charles, as we stand under the porch to bid farewell, he presses a kiss on my forehead and holds me by arm side, "Kid, Take care of yourself." I nod and turn to Josh.
Josh ruffles my hair, "All the best for your interview, baby girl and do let me know about it."
They both hop in the car and after ten minutes, Susan arrives in her Mercedes, and at the doorway she tries to figure out my conversation with Mr. Vasquez and so to avoid her I offer her some coffee and excuse myself to take a bath.
I gather my slight damp tresses in hair tie and breathe. My eyes stare at the pale, brown-haired girl with bluish-green eyes too big on her face.
I sigh, last night has been restless, my mind refines a picture of. . .him. No. I shook my head, it isn't like we will meet again. He is off- limits.
But, the effect he had on me is. . .appeatizingly intriguing.
Stop it! Don't fantasize. The voice of my consciousness urges from the pit of my brain but for some unknown reason I'm adamant to think about . . . him.
Stop it! Dejectedly, I glance at the clock on the left side of the wall, its nine and with wandering thoughts. . .of him, I pull the T-shirt over my head and tug on my jeans. I make my way to the kitchen but stop as the doorbell rings.
Susan hurries out of the kitchen, "Its okay, I got." She smiles and I saunter to answer the door.
I gasp, standing in the doorway is Kelvin Morris, Susan's boyfriend and an engineer by profession. My form shudders under the scrutiny of his chestnut orbs.
I step aside offering the room for his wide, muscled and tall body to enter. He enters and cages me so that my back is pressed to the door. My heart beats frantically.
Kelvin is weird sometimes. Too weird beyond my liking.
I try to maintain amidst distance between us, "Good morning, Gia." His voice is thick. I feel suffocating.
I glance up at him, an uneasy feeling filling up my form, "Good morning, Kelvin. Susan is inside the kitchen." I say, sounding confident by some surprise.
He nods and slowly uncages me before heading in the direction of kitchen, I breathe and resume my steps behind him.
Susan is preparing coffee by the machine, still in her skinny black jeans and purple camisole. She looks gorgeous.
She turns unconsciously and her face breaks into a smile as she sees Kelvin who surprises her with a deep, hard and passionate kiss.
I blush crimson along with pang of envy.
Susan and Kelvin met at one of the elite events hosted by her father two years ago and from there, they are too good with each other.
I wonder, what is wrong with me? Why I don't have someone like she had? Oh yeah! Susan is smart, intelligent, elegant, sightly and sexy- perfect epitome of beauty with brains, where as I'm too plain.
But deep, deep down there's a bubbling wish to have that . . . someone and I think, that Charles is right. I still haven't met that guy - the one and only for me.
