5 Weeks Earlier.

I pulled into the parking lot and ran out. I was late.... again. I loved to sing. It was my favorite thing in the world, but now I was late to ANOTHER competition because I was sleeping. Ok, let me explain. I was sleeping all day, because I was up practicing. I had no clue what the song was until yesterday that I was performing today, so I had to practice it all night for the competition today.

I pulled on my jacket and ran to the room. Luckily, I was the last contestant for the competition, so I being late this time, wasn't that bad. It was a school sing off, which they had every month to save up for money for the cheerleading squad, and everybody nominated me as a contestant every month. Annoying!

As soon as I walked into the gym, everyone crowded around me asking me questions. It was like being famous and walking into the paparazzi, even though when I wasn't in the competitions, no one noticed me. It was quite annoying, and it made me so mad sometimes. This day of the month, everyone knew my name, but every other day no one did. I had a very short and irrational temper, and I was worried I would get in trouble.

I wasn't stage fright, I just hated being on stage. I didn't get scared, I just didn't like it. I walked past the crowd and to my seat. I was supposed to be asked questions by some of the cheer leaders, so I got to the stage to meet the questioners.

The first girl walked up to me with a bright smile...... She seemed nice. She had dirty blonde hair and ocean blue eyes and stuck her hand out to shake mine. I don't know what happened but I felt a surge of energy run through me. I felt something I side me and I collapsed. All eyes were on me, and I was scared out of my mind.

What was going on? The cheerleader looked at me in a scared and knowing way for a moment before running to my aid. She helped me to my feet before asking me if I was all right. I nodded and shrugged it off and she continued to. "Hello Cinder, my name is Ocean. We are glad to see you could make it here today. Now, we would like to ask you a few questions.

The girl again stuck her hand out to shake mine and I was about to return it when she turned my hand to its side and stared at it her eyes growing wide. What was wrong with my hand? "Come with me." She grabbed my hand and started running out the door.

Everyone was staring at us as we left, and I heard whispers as we passed. I tried to pull away, but her grip was to strong as she speed walked away. After she had dragged me out of the school she finally let go of my hand, and I got a chance to look at it. When I looked at my palm, smack in the middle was a beautiful fire. It looked like a very realistic tattoo, but I had never EVER gotten a tattoo.

I checked the other palm and saw the same mark there, too. Ocean turned towards me and pulled my hand back to look at. I tried to pull it away again, but she wouldn't let go. "What are you doing? Why did you take me out here?"

"Ok, let me explain. First, you need to trust me and come with me, next, I need to make a phone call. Give me two seconds." I stared at her as if she were crazy. I just met this girl, yet she wanted me to trust her, and what was going on with hands? I was confused and scared.

Ocean pulled out her phone and walked a few yards away and called someone. Every once in a while she kept glancing over at me as she continued he'd talking. I have no clue why, I didn't just leave right then, but something inside of me was telling me to trust her, and I use my heart, not my head.

When she finished her call, Ocean walked back over to me. "Okay, this is a long story that I will explain in a minute, but first you need to come meet some people." Ocean, grabbed my hand and pulled me along. We were walking for about ten minutes near a forest before she ducked in and we were in a beautiful grass oasis place.
