New Year New Despair

Chapter 2

Takeshi PoV
A small bear with the colour scheme of a newspaper jumped onto one of the clear tables.
'Hello, I'm Monokuma, the principal of Hopes Peak. Pleasure to meet you. Please, introduce yourselves to one another. You don't want to be lonely for the year, do you now?'
Few people moved. A small girl and a slightly taller girl came up to our table and greeted us.
The small one started. 'H-Hello, I'm Ahaki Tsugun, b-but you can call me Aki or Haki for short,' she mustered a shy smile.
'And I'm Kahai Mayu, feel free to call me Kai,' the tall one beamed.
'Hello, I'm Sãkasu, this is Kokoji, Takeshi, and the ever so sarcastic, naive, and self-contained Mautama who refuses to let anyone call him that, so if you don't want him to bite, call him Moniju,' Sãkasu beamed back, Mautama glaring at her.
'Well sorry I have pride in myself,' he mumbled.
Kahai giggled, 'well, its a pleasure to meet you. May we have a seat?'

Mautama PoV
These two barbies have been sitting at our table for more than ten minutes. When will they leave?
'... So u-uh, what are your guys talents? Tsugun asked politely.
I stole the spotlight, 'Well I'm a fabtabulous decoder, and can solve many different puzzles. Challenge me, if you dare!' I claimed, chest puffed.
Our table fell silent.
'Oh, he also likes to brag about himself a lot, just a warning,' Piero chuckled, Mayu joining in.
'How about you, funny gut? What are you good enough at to be here?' Mayu asked her new potential best friend.
Piero gasped. 'You couldn't tell by my face?' she dramatically gestured to her face, a shade of moon white with fierce pink eye makeup and lips.
'Lemme guess, geisha?'
Piero blushed, 'Oh i wish, they are so talented. But no, I'm a clown.'
'Ah, that explains the humour in you,' smiled Mayu. She looked over at Takeshi,
'What about you, Takeshi, what are you so amazing at?'
Takeshi blushed, 'Oh, its nothing really, just an everyday art therapist,'
He talks about it as if it's nothing.
'Thats pretty cool, Takeshi.' Mayu beamed.
Tachingo beamed at the worthless small child, 'what about you two, Aki and Kai? What are your talents?'
Tsugun blushed brighter than Pieros make up, which i'm surprised is even possible, 'U-uh, I knit, and Kai is a bartender. W-what about you?'
Tachingo smiled, 'I'm a miner.'
The underdogs continued to talk, while i did my puzzles. Then Monokuma's voice rang through the hall, 'Alright, time to settle some ground rules!'
