So today in my fifth block, my English teacher said, "One cannot stop being stupid. But they can stop being ignorant."
But aren't stupid and ignorant synonyms?
To me this make no sense... Because to not be stupid one can learn. They can study and think more deep thoughts than a stupid person.
But an ignorant person has to come to terms with the fact that are stubborn and not always right.
Doesn't that seem harder than not being stupid? To me it does. I understand that children are ignorant and it takes us years to grow out of it. Many people never do.
I don't know. Maybe I am just looking it wrong.
