"Mom I'm going for a walk, to get to know the neighborhood more!" Cas hollered from downstairs.
"OK be safe sweetie!" she called back.
"I will! I'll text you when I'm coming back!" he grabbed his phone and wallet off the counter before leaving his new house. They had moved here two days ago from California, he didn't really know why the sudden change. But he, his mom Anna, his younger brother Gabriel, and his youngest sister Hannah had all been uprooted from their home to Lawrence Kansas. Castiel had just finished unpacking everything of his, along with helping his mom with some other things.
"Hey Cassie! Can I come with you!?" Cas looked up to see his brother Gabe hanging out the window.
"Did you finish unpacking!?" he called back.
"Well no but I -" he started.
"Then you can't go!" he said before walking off.
He stuck his hands into the pocket of his trench coat as he walked down the street, whistling to himself. He aimlessly walked around until he spotted a small pastry shop, he could smell the bread and the sweetness of fruits and chocolates, the aroma almost too overwhelming. He licked his lips before he entered the small, cozy shop. He waited patiently in line until it was finally his turn to order. He paid for his food and grabbed the small brown paper bag and exited the shop. Thud! He looked up to see who he had run into and saw a boy about his age standing above him, he was wearing jeans, a plaid shirt with a Metallica t-shirt underneath, he had a pair of sunglasses on, a golden retriever at his side.
"Sorry " Cas said standing up, dusting off his jeans. The other boy had dirty blonde hair, and a light dusting of freckles dotted across his skin.
"It's OK. " The guy replied warmly, Cas tilted his head, something was off about this guy, it was like he was looking at him but it seemed like he was looking directly above Cas, and a little to far to the left. He looked down and realized that the man's dog was wearing a vest, a guide dog vest.
"Oh my god!" he said realizing what had just happened. " I'm sorry I didn't see you! Wait no I'm not saying that to be rude, it's just that I know you can't see and I should've but I didn't see you and oh my gosh I must be so horrible!!!" he rambled freaking out but was interrupted by the other boy laughing.
"It's alright no harm no foul. Name's Dean. " he said holding out his free hand.
"Castiel, you can call me Cas. " The other said taking the offered hand and giving it a firm shake.
"So you gonna buy me food now?" Dean asked.
"What?"
"Well haven't you heard, when you knock down a blind man you buy them food, especially a cheeseburger or pie. " Dean stated.
"Oh right, sorry. " Cas said digging out his wallet.
"Don't listen to him. " another voice called, Cas looked up to see a red headed girl walking towards them.
"Dean is just trying to get you to buy him food, he does it all the time. " she said smiling and lightly punching the other in the arm.
"Oh come on Charlie! You always ruin my fun!" Cas chuckled at the two of them.
"So who is this poor soul who had the unfortune to meet you?" she asked, Cas let out a snicker.
"His name is Cas and I'm a pleasure to be around. " he said smiling adorably.
"Mhmm you're as pleasurable to be around as I find men hot. " Dean gasped.
"What about me?"
"Ah your just cute. " she said tapping his nose with her index finger. His face scrunched up a little.
