"Parseltongue is the language of serpents (as well as other magical serpent-based creatures, like the Runespoor) and those who can converse with them. An individual who can speak Parseltongue is known as a Parselmouth. It is a very uncommon skill, and is typically hereditary. Nearly all known Parselmouths are descended from Salazar Slytherin with Harry Potter being a notable exception." - A Reference from the Harry Potter Novels

Bright orange, slitted eyes stared at me, unblinkingly.

"Maebh!"

I could feel its claws, leaving shallow scratches along my arms. A paralyzation- whether from fear or its toxin- started to seep into my body.

"Maebh Clery!"

The iridescent scales of its skin played across my mind, along with view of its many rows of teeth.

"Maebh!" I heard someone shout- and this time it registered- right before I felt ice cover my entire body. I joltedupright, only to realize that I had been having a nightmare. I looked to my right and saw the dark outline of someone standing over me. I opened my mouth to scream, but said person covered my mouth with their hand before I could.

"As ucht Dé! You're impossible woman!" Ardan's voice carried to my ears, calming me as much as it enrage me. I smacked his hand away before fumbling with the lamp on my bedside table before turning it on. I shooting pain went through my head at the abrupt flash of light, and I immediately squinted my eyes. I looked down to notice that the ice I had felt upon waking up was not just fear, but ice water. The asshole had dumped ice water on me.

"What the hell! Why did you dump water on me!" I exclaimed quietly, so as not to wake anyone else up. I glanced at the clock and felt my pulse rise. "At 4:30 in the morning!" I screeched.

"Training starts in a half hour. You clearly didn't set an alarm, so I took matters into my own hands." I opened my mouth to complain some more, but before I could he pointed an accusatory finger at me and continued. "Don't even give me any more shit. You've missed three training times so far, and these are vital. You said you would do them, so get your ass out of bed." He said, before briskly turning away from me. "I'll see you in the back yard in 10 minutes." he voiced over his shoulder as he walked out the door.

I was a blob of emotions. My heart was still beating above normal pace, but I couldn't tell which of the previous events had caused it. My brain was alert due to the ice water, but my thoughts were in a fog. As memories of last nights events as the mechanic's came back to my mind, I found the resolve to get out of my bed. I realized something last night- a truth that seemed a bit more horrifying than I could handle. Which is why, ten minutes later, I was walking down to meet Ardan in my backyard wearing what I assumed to be training gear that I had conveniently found in my closet. A.k.a. it had been obviously thrown in there by Ardan himself, most likely right before he so graciously dumped ice water all over me.

"So why did you wake me up at 4:30 AM when training doesn't start until five?" I grumbled as I walked over to Ardan, who immediately turned and started walking towards the woods. I rolled my eyes but reluctantly follwed him.

"Would you have woken up otherwise?" he questioned. I remained silent. "Exactly."

The rest of our short walk was made in silence, until we came to a spot that had not taken over completely. I was confused to see pretty much nothing else in the space, considering that when Carly and I had trained she always had different mock weapons and tools with her. Ardan seemed to read my confused expression, and slipped into a more professional role that I was slightly surprised he even possessed.
