*Flashback*

Jack Pov.

"She looks so beautiful" I say to myself as I look at her at a red light.

"Are you cold?" I ask her and she nods no.

"Jack whats tha-" She says as a tractor trailer hits us head on. The sounds of car horns and breaking glass fills the air.

"No Katie!" I scream as I see my best friend and the love of my life fly through my windshield.

I get out of the car and run over to where she is laying on the side of the road. She has glass in her face and there is blood everywhere.

I immediately call 911 as I'm holding Katie's almost lifeless body in my lap.

911- 911 whats your emergency?

Jack- Please come quick, theres been an accident!

911- Whats your name sir and where is the location of the accident?

Jack- My name is Jack Gilinsky and the accident is on Imperial Highway please come quick

911- Okay sir is there anyone seriously injured?

Jack- Yes my girlfriend Katie, she flew through the windshield and there is blood everywhere!

911- If she is breathing, try to keep her sitting up and if she is not breathing you have to preform cpr immediately until authorities get there okay?

Jack- Okay thank you

I check to see if Katie is breathing and luckily she is. 

"Katie please stay with me I need you" I say bawling my eyes out.

I feel her put her shaky hand on mine. She opens her eyes and just as she is about to say something I hear sirens ringing.

The emergency squad pushes me out of the way and takes Katie in the ambulance.

Katie Pov.

"Yes my girlfriend Katie" I hear. It sounds like Jacks voice, did he just call me his girlfriend?

"Katie please stay with me, I need you" I hear Jack sob. My eyes flutter open and I put my hand on his so that he knows I am okay.

"Jack, I lo-" I try to say before the sirens fill the air.

The next thing I know, I'm being shoved in an ambulance and sent to the hospital. My face is in a constant stinging pain and my arms are all bloody as well as my blonde hair.

I feel the ambulance stop and i see the doors swing open revealing the dark Los Angeles sky.

They rush me into the hospital where I am admitted to room 174.

"You're lucky to be alive Miss. Daniels." says my nurse.

I just look at her with a small smile. The doctor puts a ton of numbing gel on my face and starts ti remove the 17 glass shards that are stuck in my face. They were done removing the glass within 30 minutes.

"Luckily there will be no scarring, so your face will return to normal in a couple days" says the doctor.

"Okay thank you" I reply.

I soon fall asleep to the beeping of my heart monitor.

I wake up around 8:00 the next morning. I already had emailed my professors last night so I can be excused from class for the next couple of weeks.

I hear a soft knock on my door.

"Come in" I said

"Oh my god Katie thank god you're okay" Jack says running over gently hugging me and adding a kiss on my forehead.
