Soul's Point of View

-----------

I stand in the jewelry store, my hands shoved deep in my pockets, gnawing on the skin of my cheek. I look around at all of the rings, terrified of how I'm going to ask her, what I'm going to say, whether or not she'll say yes.

God, you are so uncool, I think to myself. I shake my head, as a little old lady waddles over to me on the opposite side of the counter.

"Can I help you, young man?" She asks in a kind, shaky voice.

"I'm looking for a ring, for my girlfriend." I say, looking down at the display cases.

That's when I see it, the most beautiful ring I have ever seen and it reminds me so much of Maka and our relationship.

Without listening to what the older woman says, I point to the ring, "That one. That's the one I want." It's perfect.

Maka's Point of View

----------

I sit at the desk in my room, trying to work on the homework sitting in front of me and getting nowhere. I bring my knees to my chest, wrapping my arms around them. My cheek rests on my knee. I begin to think back to my relationship with Soul. A smile playing on my lips.

The way he kissed me to wake me up from Calypso's Siren Sleep...

I lean my face toward hers, though we're only inches away, it feels like miles. I feel my lips press to hers softly... Her lips start to press back.

The way he talked Death into denying my request for a new Weapon...

"We're the most compatible Meister and Weapon pairing you have, taking our souls apart and giving us to another Meister and Weapon, respectively, we won't fight at our best. It would be in your best interest as the head of the Academy to keep us together."

The way I love him... How I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with him, always and forever...

I hear the door to our apartment open. I hop up from my chair and prance into Soul's waiting arms. I kiss his cheek and smile widely at him.

"How was your day, love?" he asks, as he spins me around.

"Lonely," I say, nuzzling into his neck. "Let's go do something!"

"Fine, Baka," he chuckles. Setting me down on the floor. "Let's go to the park."

Soul's Point of View

----------

Stop being an idiot and just ask her, my thoughts scream at me. Sitting in the quiet, sunny day of the park; holding Maka's hand in mine. My free hand shoved in my pocket, playing with the smooth, velvet box that holds her ring. She's going to say yes, you just have to ask.

I take a deep breath, "Maka."

"Yes?" She looks at me with her big, emerald eyes, and my words are lost again.

I shake my head, my thoughts are spinning. I let the unfiltered thoughts run from my lips, "You know I love you and with everything going on, I wanted you to know just how much. You're beautiful, brilliant, and perfectly bewitching. I want you to be my Meister, my lover, my best friend, and my wife for the rest of my life. Maka, will you..." I pull my hand out of my pocket, the box smooth in my fingers. "Will you marry me?" Ugh, buddy, you started off super uncool with all the feelings... But I gotta hand it to you, I think it worked.

I pull the box open with my fingers, my sharky grin spreading across my lips as a large blood diamond, surrounded by small black diamonds is revealed.

I hear Maka gasp, I look up at her, finally meeting her eyes. I can see the tears lining her cheeks as she nods her head feverishly. "Of course I will, Baka!"

Her body melts into mine as I kiss her passionately. And for the first time since Ragnorok's blood first entered my system, I no longer feel my devil.
