I woke up the next morning covered in bruises with a big headache. I didn't want to go to school. I could've called in sick, but what good would that do? He would just find out I cut class. I finished contemplating my choices in my head and basically dragged myself out of bed. What a great way to start the first day of my second year of high school.

I walked into the big doors wearing my favorite dark gray hoodie, along with my light gray jeans and black converse. I was never really in the popular crowd. In fact I was a loner, the outcast, the peer people would stomp all over. They all saw a fragile, unstable, and broken girl as an easy target. I wasn't surprised when Elise, the most popular, yet biggest bitch in school, dumped a carton of orange juice all over my head. "Aww are you going to cry now?" Elise snorted while laughing a nasty laugh. I did what any good person would, I walked away.

As I walked into the bathroom to wash up before the first bell, I bumped into a girl. The first thing I noticed were her icy blue eyes that stared back with this intensity sending me chills down my back, along with black long hair curling at the end. She was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and light blue jeans. The last thing I noticed was her lips. The way they glistened in the light reminded me of a freshly plucked pink peony. Her smile was just perfect, like every part of her. She seemed sort of timid, yet the way she stood in front of my eyes with so much confidence blew me away. "Are you okay?" She asked me with caution in her voice, as if I was the fly and she were the spider approaching its dinner. "I-I'll be o-ok-okay" I stuttered not breaking contact with her piercing pupils. "I'm Vivian, I'm new to the school." She said as she stuck her hand out making an invitation. "Hi Vivian, I'm Lola." I said as I took Vivian's hand and held it in mine, returning back the gentle smile she gave me.

"Well Lola, it seems like someone had a mess this morning" Vivian said stifling a cute giggle as I noticed a very distinct dimple placed right under her left eye. "Yeah, I-I had a r-run in with the schools b-biggest bitch." I don't know what it was about her that made me so self conscious about everything. "Well here I'll help you out" she said as she started wiping away orange juice with a napkin. That whole day Vivian and I were inseparable, later finding out we had almost every class together except for geometry. We learned a lot about each other, but only things that you would find out by the "20 questions" game. As the day ended, I soon forgot all about my hell house and was actually happy.

I hope Vivian doesn't hurt me like everyone else. I am actually quite fond of her.
