Rainy Morning

The raindrops lazily slid down the window
I could barely see them anyway
     The air was cold
But I was warm
The rain was drumming out a pattern
I was only just conscious enough to hear the tune
The trees outside swayed to the wind
I only borrowed deeper into my cocoon of warmth

     It was morning
I was supposed to get up
     There was school today
My eyes drooped again
My thoughts just as slow and drowsy as the rain
"Why does school have to be there when nobody wants to go?"
Sleep was getting a better hold of me
"If I just take another quick nap . . . "

I was out like a light
But not for long
     I was rudely awakened
The loud blare of the alarm clock
My hand goes in search of the offending object
Thankfully the blissful sound of silence falls once more
I sigh in relief and borrow under my blankets
The raindrops slide lazily down the window

..................I'm asleep

I'm not sure why I'm posting this at 9:30 in the evening. I just felt like it. I wrote this in poetry class. Tell me if you can see the pattern.
