(y/n) held her hand over the side of the boat as the waves splashed against her skin. Her and her best friend Seamus were on a small boat in the middle of an ocean. He had invited her with intentions of asking her to be his girlfriend once they reached the island he was heading towards.

"Seammuuss..." (y/n) groaned, bored of being on the boat for so long. "How much longer?" "Just a few more minutes." he said, even though he didn't really know if this was true. He had never been to the island before, but he had heard good things about it, and he wasn't very good at following directions. About fifteen minutes passed before Seamus realized how lost he was. The boat came to a slow stop. "What's wrong?" (y/n) asked as she made her way to the front of the small boat. "I think we're lost..." "What?!" (y/n) began to freak out and Seamus had to calm her down. "It's okay, (y/n)." he said. "I'll get us to that island, I promise." "Okay." (y/n) sighed. "I trust you."

"Land ho!" Seamus shouted, waking (y/n) up from her nap. "What?" she asked, tiredly. "Land ho!" (y/n) looked around for what her friend was talking about. "Where?" she asked. "There!" (y/n) looked to where Seamus was pointing. She could very faintly see what looked like an island in the distance. "Finally!"

It took a little while to get to the small island, but to the two tired and hungry friends, it was worth the wait. (y/n) helped Seamus drag the boat onto shore, then examened the beach they were on. "Hey, Seamus." "What?" "I don't see any buildings!" Seamus drew his attention from the boat to the beach. There really weren't any buildings. No houses, no shops, and no boat docks. This was not the place that Seamus was trying to get to. He groaned as he fell to his knees in defeat. He had spent so much time trying to get to this island, but it was all for nothing. "This isn't the right place is it, Seamus?" "Nope. We're lost."

(y/n) sat down in the sand beside Seamus and put her head in her hands, silently crying. "(y/n)? Are you okay?" Seamus asked. "I don't wanna die, Seamus, I want to go home..." she said, sobbing. Seamus made (y/n) face him and wiped away her tears. "You're not going to die." he said. "We're going to make a shelter, find food, and get rescued. I promise." They stared into each other's eyes for a moment before leaning in and kissing. "I love you, Seamus." "I love you too."

Because it was getting dark, Seamus and (y/n) decided to use fallen branches from trees as a shelter and eat cocoanuts, but they were having alot of trouble making a fire. Rubbing sticks together was harder that it looked on TV. Finally, after what seemed like hours of work, they were able to start a small fire. (y/n) held her hands towards the fire, her teeth slightly chattering due to the cold. Seamus noticed this and rapped an arm around her shoulders. "Better?" he asked. (y/n) nodded her head. "Do you really think that we'll be able to get off of this stupid island?" she asked. "I already promised that we would, and I always keep my promises." "Always?" "Well, not always, but I swear I'll keep this one." (y/n) giggled and snuggled into Seamus's chest. They continued talking for a little while before falling asleep in eachother's arms in their make-shift tent.

The next day, Seamus decided to fish for some "actual" food whille (y/n) kept the fire going. He was having a pretty hard time trying to catch such quick fish with his bare hands, so he searched the boat that he arrived in for anything to sharpen a stick enough to use as a spear. "Come on, there has to be something in here." he said, frustrated, as he searched the entire boat. As he fumbled around, his hands brushed something that kind of felt like a flashlight. He pulled it out of the boat and examined it. It wasn't a flashlight, but it was shaped like one. It was red and the front of it read, 'Emergency Flare'. His face light up with exitement. They were saved.

"Hey (y/n)!" he shouted. (y/n) looked over her shoulder towards Seamus, who held the flare above his head. She jumped for joy and ran towards him, arms extended for a hug. She leaped into Seamus's arms and kissed his chapped lips. "As much as I would like to light this thing now," said Seamus. "We'll have to wait untill nighttime, so planes can see it better." "How do you you know planes will come?" "I heard one fly by last night. I tried yelling at it, but there was no way the pilot could hear me. I was suprised you didn't wake up." "What if one comes before night?" (y/n) asked. "Then we'll light it, but we have to be careful with this thing. I only found one."

(y/n)'s stomach suddenly made a low grumbling noise. "Have you found any food yet?" she asked. "No. I was looking for something sharp to make a spear in the boat, when I found this." he said, gesturing to the flare. "I think I have a pocket knife." said (y/n), as she reached into her pocket, pulling out a small knife. "Really?" Seamus asked. "We could have used this a long time ago!" "Sorry! It hadn't occurred to me until just now."

Seamus used (y/n)'s pocket knife to craft a spear and caught two fish. (y/n) roasted them, on a stick, over their fire. They took shifts sleeping so they wouldn't miss a plane if it passed. Hours passed, and finally, on (y/n)'s shift, a very small plane bagan to fly over the island. "Seamus! There's a plane!" she shouted, waking him up. He immediately jumped to his feet and pulled the flare out of his pocket. He lit it with the fire and shot it into the air close to the plane. It burst into several very bright colors. The plane slowed and began lowering itself towards the beach. It saw the flair! Seamus and (y/n) cheered, hugged and kissed. As the plane landed completely on the ground, they ran towards it like it was sent from heaven, which, to them, it was, even though they had only been there for a day.

Over the next few days that (y/n) and Seamus were back home, word of their rescue spread around the news like crazy, and Seamus asked (y/n) to be his girl friend, to which se said, "yes". They were both glad to finally be back home, and to finally be together as a couple.
