I grabbed my belongings and threw them in my hand bag before slinging my bag over my shoulder. I put away some paper work and quickly sculled the rest of my coffee. I was eager to get home. I hated late shifts. When you’re working from 7:30am to 9:00pm, it completely wears you out.

I locked up my office, made my way to the lift and hopped in, pressing the ‘G’ button. The doors shut and the lift moved slowly to the ground floor. It made a ‘ding’ before the lift opened and I stepped out. I placed the keys on the receptionist desk and headed for my car, but then I remembered that I walked to work today.

I cursed under my breath and started my journey home. Suddenly, my phone dinged.

Mum:

Hey, you should come over for dinner on Saturday. I miss you!

I sighed and typed back:

Mum, I have work this Saturday. Maybe on Monday or Tuesday, yeah?

I looked around the empty street. The lamp post was flickering and I could just make out pathway. A cold breeze swept past, causing me to shiver. I picked up my pace, eager to get home and take a warm shower. Ding!

Mum:

Okay, sweetie Monday is good. I’ll see you then. Love ya! Xx

I smiled.

Can’t wait! Love yo—

I dropped my phone when I felt an arm snake around my body, pinning my arms to my side. Another hand came up and covered my mouth. My screams came out muffled, and there was no way anyone would hear me. I tried to break free but the grip was too tight. My legs were kicking in all different directions.

The person removed their hand from my mouth, and just as I was about to scream, I felt a sharp metal object pressed to my neck.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea to scream, love.” The man’s voice gave me chills and his breath against my neck made me shiver, not in the good way.

“Wh-what do you want?” I asked, barely above whisper.

The man sighed.

“If you do what I say, I won’t hurt you, okay?”

I nodded slightly, still shaking. My eyes filled with tears, threatening to spill.

“When someone comes, don’t say a word. Not a single sound!” He hissed.

All different thoughts were going through my head and I couldn’t concentrate properly. Suddenly, the man pulled me out into the open, to see 5 shadows standing in front of me.

I raised an eyebrow at Niall as he stuffed his face with food.

Zayn let out a massive burp and rubbed his stomach.

“Damn, you can never go wrong with Nando’s!”  Louis sighed.

“C’mon, Niall,” I sighed, “We better get going. We have an interview tomorrow morning at 7. I want to sleep!”

Niall swallowed the last mouthful of food and nodded.

“LEGGO!”

We all grabbed out belongings and headed out the door. Our hotel was just down the street, so we were walking.

“Hey, Niall, where does all that food go?” Louis asked.

Niall shrugged and smiled. “Who knows? Maybe I have an extra stomach that it all goes in.”

We all laughed slightly, and Harry patted Niall on the back.

“From the amount of food you eat, Nialler, I’m not having any trouble believing you.” Zayn smirked.

Niall laughed and rubber his stomach, as if there was a baby in there, which caused us all to laugh more.

“Oh, Niall, you are one special snowflake.” I smiled.

Niall gave me toothy grin, showing off his white braces and slightly crooked teeth.

We turned the corner, and I saw our hotel off in the distance. It was a comfortable silence for a while, until I heard something. I stopped, and signalled the boys to stop too.

Harry furrowed his brows. “What is it Li—“

“Shh!”

We stayed quiet for a little while, before hearing a shuffling noise, like feet. We all exchanged curious looks.

We continued walking for a little while longer, but a man stepped out of the shadows blocking our way and holding a girl in his arms. The girl looked around 19, and terrified. The man’s face was covered, and he had a blade pressed to the girl’s neck.

The girl let out a small whimper, and you could see the tears slowly streaming down her face.

The man held the girl tighter.

“Give me your wallets, or I will slice this girl’s throat open.”

The girl’s eyes went big and struggled a bit, but the man had a tight grip.

I didn’t give two shits about my wallet! We needed to save this girl... but what if it was a trick. We would hand our stuff over and he would still kill her.

“Hand it over!” The man growled.

“How do we know you won’t take the wallets, and still kill her?”

The man laughed slightly. “I don’t need to kill her if I get the wallets.”

Slowly, we all reached into our pockets and pulled out our wallets. The man snatched them up and shoved them into his bag.

He slowly removed the blade from the girl’s neck and pushed her. She stumbled forwards, but Zayn caught her. The man turned and walked away, back into the shadows, and jut disappeared.

We all gathered around the girl, who looked absolutely petrified.

Zayn stroked her hair. “You alright, love?”

She was shaking, her breathing was heavy and her eyes were darting all over the place, as if she was scared that the guy was going to jump out and snatch her up again.

I moved closer and grabbed her hand. She flinched a bit but then we locked eyes, and she relaxed. “He’s not coming back, okay? You’re safe.”

“I-I—,” Was all she managed to get out, before her eyes shut and her body went limp.

The boys started freaking out, thinking she was dead. I sighed and shook my head.

“She fainted. She’s fine, but we need to get her back to the hotel so we can keep an eye on her.”

Zayn scooped her up and we all made our way back to the hotel. When we entered the lobby, we got strange looks from everyone. We got in the lift and made out way up to the top floor. We rushed into our room, and Zayn placed her on the couch. Niall walked out and came back in a minute later with a pillow and blanket.

Once she was wrapped up, we all relaxed.

Harry ran his fingers through his curls and sighed. “Well, tonight was.... eventful.”

We all smiled slightly and looked at the girl lying on the couch. Her brown hair had fallen over her eyes and her plump lips were parted slightly. Her skin looked smooth and, from what I’d seen, her body was flawless.

In other words, she was gorgeous.
