"I'm guessing you don't want to do sports either?" Zane asked, slumping down on the floor next to Heath, who was sat with his back against the sports block watching everyone else begin their stretches for the sprinting that they were due to start.
Heath turned to Zane, the bruises decorating his left cheekbone and eye socket were slowly fading into a mix of yellows and greens and would look aesthetically pleasing to the point that Zane would ask to take a picture for his Tumblr account if he didn't know the circumstances that they were formed from.
"Nah. I mean look at me, I'm not really running material" He replied. "I mean I'm more a balls man y'know" he joked with a smirk.
"Yeah I know what you mean, especially those round ones" Zane playfully shot back which resulted in both boys breaking out in laughter which faded into a comfortable silence.
"Look I'm really sorry about what happened" Zane piped up, referring to David and Scott.
The memory flashed back to Heath and the anger he'd pushed down began to rise until he looked back at Zane to be met with him looking down at his hands that were anxiously tapping his leg. The sight melted Heath's anger.
"I really didn't say anything to them! I didn't want them to-" Zane pleaded.
"Hey it's fine I believe you!" Heath quickly cut in before the boy was ridden with anxiety for life.
"This isn't my first rodeo, I can take it" Heath assured him, resting his hand on Zane's jittery hand to calm him before removing it gently before anyone could see. One beating was enough for Heath.

Carly was walking around the corner, her pink hair flying in the wind, "Zane you loser! Come on!" She shouted jokingly.
"Ugh! I'll see you later yeah?"
"Yeah see you..." Heath replied as Zane pulled himself up, using the wall for support.
"Wait! Pass me your phone!" Heath called out.
Zane pried his phone out of the pocket of his skinny jeans, curiously passing it to Heath and watch as the boy typed something into the phone before handing it back, both of them trying to hide the spark they felt run through their bodies as their fingers touched momentarily.

It wasn't until later that Zane looked back at his phone to find a new contact 'H' followed by too many heart emojis causing Zane to blush but not smiling for the whole day.
The happiness created a surge of confidence and before he knew it he was texting the number.
'Hey baby, so when am I next seeing you?'
