In this fanfic Sophia is 17 and Shawn is 21 also both are unknown for most of it :)

I hated nights like these.
We sat in Travis's house while his friends were over watching 21 jump street and they all smoked. I've been dating Travis for a year and a half yet we've never been on an actual date, like by ourselves. He always has his friends over and gets wasted. Sometimes he doesn't even know who I am and he would make out with random girls and I'd have to drag him home.

Once the movie was over his friends started playing spin the bottle while me and the only other sober person here, Mackenzie started to clean because if we didn't it would always smell like a dead rotting body in here.

"Travis it landed on Jacklyn."
"He has a girl."
"That doesn't matter. Rules are rules."

Mackenzie noticed first then pulled me from the sides. I loved Travis a lot and always forgave him for getting drunk but I told her a few weeks ago it was starting to hurt. I felt more like an uber driver then a girlfriend at the end of the night.

When I saw them making out and everyone cheering. I decided to leave and Mackenzie followed. I couldn't tell if I was mad enough to break if off right then and there. Yeah I was pissed, who wouldn't be? Me and him had been threw so much.

After we left we got in her car and drove to a club where her sister worked. If you were over 16 you could get in just not drink and you had to be 18 to work there. When we walked in we headed to where she would be near the bar. We sat on the stoods and talked to her. She was only two years older than us but she liked hanging out with us. I told her what had happened then my phone started buzzing.

It was Travis.

I excused myself from them and walked to the other end of the bar to answer.

"What do you want?" I said I little to loud in the speaker.

"Where the hell did you go?" Travis yelled back threw the phone.

"Maybe if you spent more time noticing your girlfriend in stead of letting other girls shove their tongues down your throat you'd know where I was." I said then hung up.

I looked down at the text messages he was sending while walking back to Mackenzie and Dinah when a body bumped into me and a drink spilt down my shirt.

"Damnit." I whispered to myself looking down at it.

"I am so sorry." The voice above me said as I looked at him. He was about 6 feet tall, curly brown hair and brown eyes. He handed his glass to one of his friends he was there with and pulled me to the side where the napkins were at an empty table.

"Its okay." I said laughing while he stood debating to clean it from my shirt. "I'll get it."

"I am so sorry." He said grabbing more napkins.

"Accidents happen." I said smiling at him and he smiled back.

"Can I make it up to you?" He said.

"Sure." I said. How could this night get worse? I thought to myself.

I finished cleaning my shirt and threw away the napkins. I texted Mackenzie and said I was going to walk home since I didn't live very far it was pretty believable. She just said to be safe and text her tomorrow.

When we got outside the lights to a black Jeep turned on. I was assuming it was his car. We got in and he started the car.

"So what's your name?" He asked pulling out of the club.

"Sophia, you?" I asked messing with my fingers. I don't know why I was nervous honestly. He wasn't scary or anything.

"I like that name and mine is Shawn." He said smiling. "So how old are you?"

"17, and you?" I said kinda quiet. I knew he was older because the stain was alcohol.

"Just turned 21." He said as we stopped at a red light. "So you are a senior?"

"Yeah but I am graduating a few months early." I said.

"That's exciting." He said kinda awkwardly.

"Not really" I said laughing. "So what do you do?"

"I play guitar and sing." He said smiling.

"I used to do that to growing up. My mom still wants me to sing." I said.

"Really? I'd have to hear you sing sometime." He said then winked while I laughed. Then my phone started buzzing.

Travis.

"You should probably get that." Shawn said hearing my phone.

"You sure?" I asked and he nodded his head then I answered.

"Sophia please come back. I need you babygirl please. I can't go a day without you. I love you so much. I am sorry I was so stupid." Travis said crying on the other end.

"Travis please stop calling me and just leave me alone." I said hanging up after hearing glass break. I let a tear fall but then covered it up forgetting I was with Shawn. He put his hand on my knee rubbing his thumb over it.

"Are you okay?" He asked after a minute passed.

"Yeah I am sorry. That was my ex boyfriend." I said.

"Its okay. I get it. What happened?" He asked in a caring tone.

"He cheated on me a few times and I kept taking him back but earlier tonight I had finally broke up with him. He drank, smoked, and partied all the time and at first it was fun but now I just drive him home when he is drunk or got kicked out." I said as Shawn parked us in an empty parking lot.

"I know I don't know you very well Sophia but I know you didn't deserve it. You deserve a man in your life. One that loves and cares for you like you do him. You fell for a boy who has yet to see the harsh reality of the other side of the world. He is just living in his own for now till reality hits him." He said.

"All the guys my age do is care for themselves." I said.

"Lucky for you I am not your age." He said starting the car back up. "where do you live so I can get you home?"

After I gave him directions he parked outside my house and he gave me his number and I gave him mine. Then I got out getting really to shut the door.

"Goodnight Sophia."

"Goodnight Shawn."
