Song(s) to listen to while reading: Malibu by Miley Cyrus and September song by JP Cooper :)

The next morning I woke up at 10 am. I headed downstairs to see mom and dad gone. I forgot a few weeks ago they told me they were gonna go visit family for a week and since I am responsible they left me by myself here. I made myself coffee and texted Shawn. He said he was at the gym and would stop over afterwards. I then showered and did my makeup.  I was in the middle of highlighting when he showed up. He walking in and we went to my room where he sat and flipped threw channels.

"So what do you wanna do today pretty lady?" He asked me looking in the mirror.

"Umm... I am not sure. Got anything in mind?" I asked now lightly curling my hair.

"Ever been to Malibu?" He asked.

"No, why?" I said now facing him.

"Its only 5 hours away. We should go!" He said pulling me closer.

"I don't know Shawn." I said with my hand around his neck and his on my waist while he leans us along the bed. He then lightly bites my bottom lip, tugging it a little.

"Please?" He asked.

"Okay. Let me grab some clothes." I said pulling away from his embrace and headed to my closet.

"Make sure to pack a weeks worth." He said while sitting on my bed looking at the note.

"Why a weeks worth? I can't stay in Malibu all week." I said laughing at him.

"I know silly. I want you to stay at my place this week." He said.

"Okay." I said smiling while standing in my closet.

I packed clothes and everything I'll need. After we packed we headed to Shawn's Jeep to put the stuff in then we started the 5 hour drive. We played music and talked. He loves John Mayor and muffins. He told me about his family and how much he misses his sister. I told him about Mackenzie and them, along with other things about myself. We even sang together in the car to one direction.

We stopped for snacks and stuff. Shawn had to use the restroom so I went to get us food and drinks from the Starbucks there.
After that we went and drove two more hours.

"Has Travis tried to talk to you?" Shawn asked.

"No, i doubt he will." I said looking at the road.

"What was it like loving him?" He asked.
That was an odd thing to ask a girl that you are taking to Malibu.

"Shitty. I felt used with him. Like he only needed me to take him places and drive him home." I said. "I always had believed in fate. You know?, like you would meet one person and your whole life would change for the better and no matter how awful things got you'd always have each other because fate wanted it that way. But that's simply not the truth. I met him when I was trying to be a rebel I guess. No one wanted us to be around each other but something drove me to him. Something made me forgive him at 3 am when he threw a glass bottle near my head trying to hit me for making him leave his friends place. It was like any second after the bottle left his lips he could flip on me."

Shawn took in all that I told him carefully. He thought for a minute for the right words.

"Fate is more like when you first meet someone and you see the love and tender in their eyes. Trust me. You'll remember every detail from the other persons first words to the color of their socks. Now love, love is when you don't get tired of looking into the same brown eyes everyday because to you they aren't just normal brown eyes, they belong to the person who held your broken pieces while you put yourself back together. Love is when you are sixty years old dancing to music you listen to when you were teenagers. Love isn't outing the other person before yourself, even though that's what you want to do you can't. You need to but your health first before another person because if the other person cared about you they'd understand." He said.

He was right. Travis put me threw a personal hell and I went threw it because I thought he loved me. I put my hand on top of Shawn's, that layed on my arm rest.

"Toxic is what that relationship was but now all I can do is move on." I said running my thumb over his ring.

I am still not positive if Shawn is the one to move on to. Yes, he is amazing and is everything I want but I don't want to ruin the future he has. Plus I don't even know if we are compatible together. He wants to tour and adventure the world while I have yet to know what to do with myself.

"Do you really believe in fate that much, Sophia?" He asked.

"Kinda I guess." I said as he grabbed my hand tightly.

"Did you feel it when we met?"

"Yes. Did you?"

"Yes."

I wrapped both my hands around his as he turn on the radio. September Song started playing and I messed with his fingers the rest of the ride.

"Babe, we are here." He said as I let go of his hand and unbuckled myself. When I get out I grab my beach bag and we head to the beach. Shawn sets down a towel for us and an umbrella to block out some sun. We both headed into the ocean for a while. It was peaceful because not that many people were around. After almost two hours of swimming it soon became six o'clock. Time went by so fast. I sat on the towel and tried to tan while Shawn sat besides me writing.

After an hour and a half of doing that we went down by the ocean again and sat together watching while the sun was in the middle of going down. He hummed a song while I rested my head near his chest. Today was perfect. Quite the night in Malibu.

"Ready to head back? I'll be a long 5 hours back so I can drive if you are tired." I asked Shawn collecting the towel and umbrella.

"It won't be 5 hours silly, I rented us a place for two nights." He said smiling at me. I didn't have classes Monday because of a teacher holiday.

"Shawn, you didn't." I said smiling at him.

"I did." He said pulling out the keys and smirking at me.

Absolutely perfect is how I'd describe Malibu. So is Shawn.

To bad something won't be the same once I return home.
