"So, Audrey, who was that? Hmm?" my dad asked me with a little playful smile.
"Nobody..." I looked away too fast, trying to hide my blush.
"Audrey, first of all, I'm your father. Secondly I'm Cupid. I think I can tell when somebody has a little crush."
"Really. It's nobody. He has a girlfriend." I looked at the pavement under my feet.
"Awh, Audrey. I'm terribly sorry. Don't worry about guys now. Just live life!" I looked up and gave him a small smile.
"Thanks dad. You all ways say the best things." I gave him a big smile when I heard my last name being called out.
"Avins?! Avins?!" I saw that it was an old chubby guy. He had a long peacoat on a black hat. He looked like a limousine driver.
My dad started to wave his right hand.
"Over here!"
The driver looked over to us and saw us. He gave a quick nod and walked over.
"Hello Mr. Avins. It's nice to see you again." he shook my dads hand. He walked over to my mom taking her hand and kissing it. "Hello Mrs. Avins. I am glad that your family could visit good ol' Florida again."
"It's good to see you again, Harold."
He then turned to me. "Goodness! Audrey you have grown so much! You probably don't remember me. When you used to live in Florida I used to take care of you a lot. You have grown into a respectable woman." he gave a small sweet smile. He so seemed so nice, so I return the gesture.
"Thank you! And you know what, I sort of remember you. We're you the one that would slip in candy under my pillow when I got back from pre school?"
"Indeed that was me!" we both laughed.
"Well Stewart we need to be heading down to the beach. The ship will calling for passengers within the next hour or so."
"Yes sir. Follow me." We pushed our carts that held our suitcases to a slim black BMW S.U.V.
Once we got settled we drove through Miami. It took us about thirty minutes to get to the beach. Once I saw the ship I gasped. It was huge. It was everything I expected. It even had the slides for the pool on top.
"It's amazing! I can't believe we'll be riding in that for three weeks!" my parents chuckled at my excitement.
I took out my phone and texted all my friends that I finally arrived. I was becoming very excited. Until I remembered about Scott. I groaned internally. I just hoped that we weren't boarding close.
By the time we were saying our goodbyes with Harold they started calling for first class. And of course that was us. When we were starting to form the lines, I noticed a couple making out close to us. I made a gagging noise. The couple stopped kissing. When the man turned around, I looked away as soon as I could. It was Scott. I looked quickly over to them once more. And he was giving me a smirk. He whispered something to his girlfriend, and started to walk to the end of the line.
For some reason I started to get really mad. But why? I only met him earlier today. Maybe it was just an infatuation. Yes. That was the reason. I snapped out of my thoughts when I realized that we had been slowly walking to the front.
"Tickets." the guy at the entrance said to us.
My father took out three tickets and handed them to him. He looked at them for a second, looked at us, and nodded. When we walked in, I was in shock. The first class wing was awesome. It had a mini bar, with a lot of lounges. Once we got to our room, I claimed my bed and started to unpack my suitcase. The room was smallish. I expected that, cruise ships need all the space for the mall, casino, and restaurants!
