Chapter 2: Cody's POV

I'm trying to brainstorm what chemicals to work on and Maxx is kinda being no help. He hasn't said anything since we started working together except muttering out his name. "Do you have any idea what you even wanna work on?" As usual I get silence in return. I get he's the shy kid at school but he's really pissing me off. "Ok if you don't wanna start this right now you can just come to my place after school and we can work on it then. Right now I'm gonna finish planning my act for the talent shoe." "Ok." He finally mutters. Damn this project is gonna be really difficult to work on with someone who's basically mute. Ugh I could've gotten Becca. I would've been okay with her punching me the whole time. There's 5 minutes left of this class and I have almost everything planned out for the talent show. I'm gonna do an original song that I call 'Miss Mysterious'. Before chem class ends I remember to ask Maxx for his number before class ends. He looks almost excited to have me asking for his number but I can't really tell. I'm just a regular guy so maybe he has a crush on me or just isn't used to getting a lot of attention. Or any for that matter. I'm gonna go with the second one. Mostly because I've been waiting for 3 months to ask out Shay and I really hope she says yes. I know she has a boyfriend but he'll be outta the way before I ask her.(hehe gave you a little hint) After going through the rest of my boring ass classes I finally go home, eat, watch a little TV, then call Maxx. "Hey do you wanna work on our chem project today?" He doesn't say anything for a while then finally tells me he has some family stuff and maybe tomorrow. Not to mention he's stuttering the whole way through his damn sentences. Jeez he really needs to be more social. I decide to call Becca and she tells me
That her and Ash are damn near done studying the chemicals. Ugh see this is why I wanted one of them. The girls at my school work way better than the guys because we all goof off all the time. I decided to wait until tomorrow to talk to Maxx about the project and decided to stalk Shay's Instagram account for a little while. All of her pictures are perfect. She has a boyfriend but I know deep down inside he's not the one for her and I won't stop until she's mine. His presence enrages me. I want him out of the picture. For good. I'm willing to do ANYTHING to make that happen. Even kill.
