Changes (Book 1 in the changes series)

Chapter 1

I woke up to my alarm going off. Groaning I grabbed my phone and turned my alarm off. I threw the covers off of me and changed into a pair of black sweats, a white tank top and a dark gray hoodie over my tank. I put on a pair of socks, grabbed my backpack and my duffle bag. Opening my door I made my way downstairs throwing my hair into a bun, I placed my bags by the front door and walked in the kitchen. 

My names Zoey I'm 17 years old and I'm a senior in high school, I stand at 5'6 and a half, I have straight waist length red hair and green eyes, I'm an only child and I live on the Big Island in Hilo with my Mom and Dad, I'm the Team Captain for Track, I work at Cronies in downtown Hilo. My Mom is a Fashion Designer and my Dad is a business man they both are always going on trips for their job so I'm mostly home by myself while they're gone.

"Morning Mom" I greeted grabbing a plate and making myself a plate of breakfast that Mom made.

"You're going to school like that?" My Mom asked looking at my outfit

"Yes because I was too lazy to put together an outfit" I said sitting down and eating my breakfast.

"Dad have to work again?" I asked and Mom nodded

"How long?" I asked

"A few months maybe even a year" Mom said. My Dad is rarely home since he's always going on buisness trips most of the time.

"What about you?" I asked as I finished eating my breakfast.

"I'm leaving for 2-3 months to share some of my ideas" Mom said and I nodded my head. I stoop up and placed my plate in the sink. I started making my lunch, throwing a couple snacks and my water in my duffle back. I went back upstairs and finished getting ready for school. Grabbing my bags I said bye to Mom and grabbed my car keys.

I unlocked my car and placed my bags in the backseat. I'm a neat freak and like to keep my car clean on occasions I'll leave a spare jacket or a blanket in the car in case any of my friends get cold. I plugged my phone into my charger, connecting my phone to my car I played my music, I pulled out of the driveway and went to pick up my friend Aaron.

I honked my horn when I pulled up in front of Aarons house. Aaron walked out of the house and got in the car.

"Morning, why are you in Pajamas?" Aaron asked throwing his bags in the back and putting on his seatbelt

"Was too lazy to put an outfit together" I said leaving his house.

"Can we stop at Starbucks real quick I need coffee" Aaron said. I drove to Starbucks and parked my car.

"Do you want anything?" Aaron asked

"Can you get me 2 cookies" I asked

"That all?" Aaron asked and I nodded my head reaching into my glove compartment I grabbed my wallet took out a few dollar bills and handed them to Aaron. 

"What are you doing? I can pay for both" Aaron said

"I know but I'm pitching" I said leaving no room for arguments. Aaron took the money and ran inside while I waited in my car. Aaron came out of Starbucks a few minutes later with a drink in his hand and two bags.

"Here you go" Aaron said handing me my chocolate chip cookies.

"Thanks" I said leaving Starbucks and heading to school.

I parked my car in the student parking lot when we got to the school. Aaron and I grabbed our things from the car, I locked the car hitting the lock button twice and we started walking to the school building.
