The Secerts we Kept

"Hi I'm Liz. I'm a transfer student from Canada. I hope I can have a good year of school here." I said as I sat down in the desk that would be mine for the rest of the year. 
As I tried to get comfortable in my seat a guy next to me with blond hair and green eyes tapped me on the shoulder and asked "Hey Liz, want to eat lunch with me at the jocks table? Or you can hangout with me after school."
I gave him a dirty look and ask him "Why are you asking me? Wouldn't you be asking Brittney? She's more popular and I'm brand new here. So what's your reason?"
"That's the thing, I asked you because you aren't like the other girls here." He responded.
"Well I don't even know you." I told him as I laid down the tone of no interest.
"Then let's start. My name is Mikle Boots and I like to hunt during my free time." Mikle said in a proud tone.
"Well... um I have to catch.. up with... s-some old friends." I stammer out.
"Fine have it your way! Go and hangout with your made up friends." Mikle barked, annoyed.
"Ok the.." right then the teacher, Ms.Buckleman cut me off and said " you two hush now or detention!"
"I rather take detention." Mikle said.
"Fine go to detention Mr.Boots." Ms.Buckleman said.
The whole class laughed at his last name as he left the room. The class went on for what seamed like forever. Then the bell rang for lunch. I walked over to my locker and grabbed my blue hoodie. Then I walked over to the cafeteria. I bought my food and then went to my friends table. This table was special because no one was allowed to eat there with us.
You had to be our friend to eat there with us.
"Hey guys. How has school been for the first day here in the US?" I asked everyone.
"Technically we now live in Oregon which is in the USA, Liz." Miles said in a snarky tone.
"Shut up Miles." I snarl at him.
"Well I think if Miles likes to answer stuff correctly he should be in the math & Science club. Also the people there wouldn't be annoyed by you." Jenny said snakily to Miles.
"Guys we have to stay under the radar, don't we?" Asked Max.
"They don't know our secrets. As long as they don't know we are fine." Emma said.
"Wait, what secrets? The one about our parents deaths, all of us liking one another, or the wolvwaos wla." Max tried to ask as we cut him off as we all yelled "Max!"
"What?" He asks, innocently.
"You know you can't talk about those things around the people here. We don't know anybody here, anyone could be listening. You don't want to move again do you?" Rebecca asked.
"Alright, alright I get it I'm sorry. Jeezze." Max said.
"But guys we're still on for after school right?" Benjamin asked wondering.
The whole group except me said "ya." So everyone looked at me.
The bell rang for lunch to be over. The whole cafeteria cleared out to go to the quads to hangout. We all started to walk to recess when someone pulled me to the side. It was Mikle. Ugh just what I needed.
"I over heard that you guys had some... secrets. Any worth my time?" Mikle asked Suspiciously.
"We don't have any secrets worth your time." I said Irritated.
"Really I heard that your guys parents died." He said.
"No it's a joke. Just let go of me Mikle!" I barked at him.
"Not intel you tell me your secrets." Mikle said.
"Guys help me!" I screamed "Edwin help! Help!"
"Really you think they can hear you. They are in the quads at the moment." He told me, as he tried to make me feel defenseless.
The next thing I did was howl which I knew they could hear.
"Oh look how cutie, you like wolves. Guess what I hunt wolves." Mikle said, a wide smirk grew across his face.
I just look at him. Then my face becomes hard and my lip pulls back showing my teeth as I snarled, "Then if you hunt wolves you aren't my friend."
Edwin came around the corner and yelled "Mikle let go of her!"
"I don't have to listen to anyone, let alone a dibstick like you." Mikle said.
"You take your hands off of her or I will come over there and fight you." Edwin growled at Mikle.
"Oh Edwin, how I wish I could hurt you. Wait I know how to hurt you." Mikle said as he laughed.
He turned and looked over to me. He released his hand from me giving me a small chance to move, but before I could he punched me in the jaw. I then fell to the ground from the force of the impact. Then he kicked me in the stomach and looked at Edwin with a smirk. I know for a fact that when you mess with Edwin he gets mad. But when you mess with me he will not hold back.
That's a big code in our group: mess with a mate, you get the claw.
"Come on Mikle can we take this in front of the school?" Edwin asked, wanting to make sure no one else would see what he was going to do.
"Let's do it right here. Come on give it your best shot. I bet you can lay a single finger on me." Mikle chuckled.
"Ugh let's just do it here I guess." Edwin said.
Mikle tried to hit Edwin but he dodged it. He then turned around and went behind Mikle. He grabbed his arm in a lock poison. He then punched Mikle in the head and released his lock, allowing him to fall. Edwin then started to walk back over to me. That's when I saw Mikle stand up and lunge at Edwin. I pushed Edwin out of the way so Mikle tackled me. Edwin then came over and pulled him off of me. He then pulled me away from him.
"Come on Liz, lets go." Edwin said as he wrapped his arm around me.
He then kissed my head as  the school bell rang for free time to be over, which signaled the last class of the day. As the hallways got crowed, everyone walked in groups with the flow of kids. Since Edwin has the same class with me, he walked with me there.
When there is a little gap between the water fountain and the wall, I pull Edwin over to the side.
"Edwin thanks for saving me, but I think the pack may be in danger. I mean, he hunts animals, including wolves. I don't think it's a good idea for me to be in or a part of the pack." I said to Edwin in an upset voice.
"Liz I'm not kicking you out of the pack we're a family. All of us. We've only got each other and no one else. Besides that, I can't live without you." Edwin tells me as he rubs my arm.
"Edwin, I'm just so sorry." I apologized
"Well, I'm not. That guy deserved it for many reasons." Edwin told me.
He pulled me close to him and wrapped his arms around me.
He looked into my eyes and said "I'm never going to let you go not even when your dead. I rather be dead then live without you. I love you too much."
"I love you too." I respond.
He pulled my head up and kissed me on the lips. His lips are so soft. I think I had almost forgotten the feeling of them. I missed him. Being separated for so long broke me. But we made a code, a promise to each other, to the whole pack. This promise was to meet here at this school. It was a promise from a long time ago but we still fell through with it.We all fulfilled the promise because that's what we do as wolves.
He pulled his lips away from mine and said "Liz, if we had to run again, I'd run with you. I'm not going to leave you on your own in the woods like that again. Even if there was a fire between us, I'd find a way to you."
"Forever?" I asked, looking for reassurance.
"Yes always Forever. Not even death would make me separate from you." Edwin said as he kissed my forehead.
He then turned away. As he was starting to walk away, I grabbed his wolf necklace and pulled him nearer.
"Liz come on, we need to get to class or we will be late." Edwin said as he pulled away.
"Edwin we can go into class in a second. The bell doesn't ring for another minute." I told him hoping he would listen.
Finally giving in, Edwin said "Fine."
I pulled his head down and kissed him.
"Alright let's go in. I just to return the favor." I said, smirking.
"Ok come on, let's go." He said as we walked in.to class.
We sat down next to each other in bio class. It went on for the last hour of the day. The bell rang after the long lecture and everyone rushed out of the room. I waited with Edwin till the class filed out through the small classroom door. We met up with everyone and left to go into the forest behind the school. Before we went into the forest we checked the area to make sure no one saw us.
Once we were in the forest we changed into our wolf forms.
"Guys come on, I know where a safe place is. I found it when I was coming to the school." I informed them.
Everyone followed me along the hidden path I created. We then arrive to the beautiful cave. It had a stream running past it. This would be our new home.
Night was falling so everyone was huddling with their mate. Miles and Emma slept with each other. Benjamin and Rebecca slept with each other. Jenny and max slept with each other. Finally Edwin and I slept with each other.
The good thing is we survived our first day of school and I hope our safety will remain with us tomorrow, even with the little hick up with Mikle and him being a hunter.
