Xosha Lafayette is an incoming freshman and film major at Texas A&M University, a school she has been looking forward to attending her whole life. She already knew that college life wouldn't be easy, and adjusting to campus life would be difficult. Especially being one of the few black people, who only made up 4% of the school's entire population. However, she didn't expect the school year to start off with a series of racially motivated crimes either. Looking for refuge, she and a few friends join the school's Black Student Union, the only place where ignored issues are brought to life and discussed. At first Xosha believes that she made the right decision to join; after all, who else can she depend on but her own people?
But does being a part of something greater than herself help her, or make things more dangerous?
