Again the phone's cracked screen lit up with another message but no reply was sent nor did the man even spare a glance at the phone. He had been alone for such a long time, travelling through time and space but couldn't share its wonders with another, yet still he kept saving the world over and over again but his heart was heavy and his eyes like broken glass.
The world needs you, I need you...
Doctor please...
And then the phone went dead, the only person who had cared about the doctor would not be able to reach him again.
